I heard through the grapevine that the pulled pork was amazing.

Will have to look up that rub. I would have figured you for a 'rare as safe to eat' sorta dude.
    Tastes the best that way!

yep it does taste the best rare. bbq pork sandwiches are quite awesome around here. the real task is actually standing in front of the bbq sauce section of the store & picking out one. i've a few brands i'll always put in the cart. i'd also like to make my own bbq sauce sometime

Friends of friends years ago had a start up making sauce called BBQMF. No idea if they are still at it...they were out of Long Beach, CA and made some good stuff.

I may have to try and make some soon as well. Sounds like fun

    Pride of Szeged

    mcgruff10,
as of late i been using a steak rub made by 'szeged' who also makes pork, chicken & fish rubs & probably others. garlic, pepper, perhaps some garlic sriracha seasoning. 'weber' makes a whole pile of seasonings. the little seasoning containers' lids resemble weber grill lids. good stuff. gotta have sautéed mushrooms & onions: olive oil, maybe a little butter garlic & pepper, maybe a pitch of salt - maybe not.

i like a pink steak. medium - medium well. lately my steak has been well done as that's how others around here enjoy their meats & often i'll forget & or just get lazy & or go with the flow in a busy kitchen & grill/smoker. been smokin pork loins & making pulled pork sandwiches. "easy does it big fella," they say. kingsford charcoal & apple wood chunks does the trick. mesquite, cherry & hickory woods are spectacular too. it is a all day event when smokin one's meat. it is a sweatfest with all the humidity

love the old spice & tea trail. hungary is 1,759 miles (as the crow flies) from morocco. great spices all throughout that region. ever see a leather tannery hard at work from one of these places? check it out.

not sure, sir mcgruff10. i'm sure i've had & used montreal seasoning before. i see it at the store & will pick some up next time. the mind is quite foggy. this morning i broiled two ribeyes, threw some french fries on a cookie sheet & whipped up a couple cheese omelets. didn't have any mushrooms. life goes on & is tasty. used that szeged seasoning but didn't really rub it in much nor did i let it rest a few hrs in the refrigerator. nope just cooked them. some days i just aint got time to screw around, this here breakfast being one of them times

    can't forget the coffee

what do you do w/ your meats, mcgruff10? the neighbor across the way & i are smoking pork loins today. we'll have plenty of bbq pork sandwiches for the weekend & next week. picked up a pork loin yesterday nearly as long as a man's arm. i cut it in 3rds. good to go.

mcgruff10, rgambs, mickeyrat, f me in the brain, hedonist, & whoever else - ever smoke a whole turkey? this is one of my upcoming events. it's a pain in the ass with the brine & bucket. where's chef speedy?

I've done it a time or 5... Never messed with any brine, just smoke and eat.
I gave up on turkeys, I can smoke 3 chickens in half the time and they come out juicier anyways. Now I know turkey is superior to chicken, but the chicken takes the smoke flavoring deeper and like I said, juicier.

Never smoked, nor fried, a whole turkey. Want to do both. My brother in law did it for Thanksgiving last year and told me smoked turkey was excellent. Many people told me that fried turkey is killer.
Have a frozen bird in the garage freezer right now....need to thaw and cook that bad boy soon!

Deep fried turkey is a-f***ing-mazing. My brother-in-law and I fry one for our family's Thanksgiving every year. We also rotisserie a pork loin. There's a reason Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.

Mr Chad, what is your opinion on the rotisserie?

never cooked on a rotisserie but have eaten rotisserie chicken from a deli. don't think that counts as much. never deep fried a turkey either

set up the turkey fryer AWAY from any structure. be slow and deliberate in putting it in the oil making sure there is no water on it. Follow the recommended oil amount to the ounce.

for fun search youtube turkey frying. 911 gets a workout.
