image Holy shit, that's brutal.... might be time for those two to seek amnesty somewhere or something. I admire them for what they're doing despite the consequences. Hope they don't get the spirit beaten out of them.

  • Sigh. The answer to dealing with hooligans from the Defense Dept of Russia? Violence. Meanwhile, in American mainstream news last night, a similar story mentioned Pussy Riot playing, yet never mentioned them being beaten. Hello, Censorship? Here's the activist band's latest release.

As you may be aware, Pussy Riot is at the Winter Olympics. Since they’ve been in Sochi, where they’ve attempted to “carry out Pussy Riot action” in the Olympic Village, they’ve been detained and beaten with whips by the local militia. At a press conference yesterday, held in the street after the hotel that originally agreed to host cancelled the event due to “plumbing problems,” Pussy Riot showed their new video. “Putin Will Teach You to Love the Motherland,” shot in Sochi, features footage from the trip as well as repeated abuse against the group from authorities.

    Video in link.

Why anyone would fuck with Putin is beyond me....I know they are trying to prove a point, but Vlad is not the guy to play high stakes with. They are lucky he didn't have them shot.

After watching the Colbert Report appearance I don't believe they will be slowing down anytime soon. They stated that they don't care if they end up in prison. IMO they have grown so large that if they are to be jailed for staging concerts they will be released because of their international "fame". To be beat with a horse whip for staging pop up concerts is crazy but videoing it only helps their cause.

    Wind this thing up.

Well thank god for people like them, who are willing to risk it all and stand up to what seem to be impossible barriers for what they believe in. Can you imagine what kind of world we'd be living in if there weren't people like that???
