Saw the acoustic tour kickoff show tonight in LA. It was great. They kept it loose and Ben would joke about not knowing how certain songs would work. The show ended up being amazing.
Love the album but thought it was missing certain songs but I realize the Ryman was an acoustic pre-set. They stretched out and played pretty much everything I wanted to hear like Laredo, Great Salt Lake, Ode to LRC, and others. Loved it all. Would be great to see another show at the end of the tour after they've played these acoustic for a month. To all going, enjoy your shows!

  • i picked it up on vinyl and cd yesterday. spun it 5 times last night and once in the car on the way to work today. this album hit me hard emotionally. there are some beautiful versions of songs on here. no one's gonna love you was simply perfect. and the funeral on piano was incredible. anybody notice an absence of drums?

If my memory serves me correctly...Creighton only played drums on one song during both of the acoustic sets!!
I can't swear on it, but I think it was on the cover of Kris Kristofferson's "Just the Other Side of Nowhere" on night 1.

  • Such a great live band. So lucky to have seen them 4x in 2010 - one in my hometown at a small club called The Blue Note. Wish they'd swing back through but think they kinda blew up in the mainstream that year. Touring with PJ didn't hurt either! One of my favorite bands from the last 10 years, if not the favorite!

Only 10 Songs on the vinyl...You do get a BONUS track / Weed Party with the digital download code from the vinyl
iTunes gives you the "Evening Kitchen" bonus track & we got "Song For You" on the 7" that came out on Black Friday Record Store Day.
I think there are only 3 songs from the Acoustic sets they didn't release:
The Kris Kristofferson cover "Just The Other Side Of Nowhere" from Night 1 &
St Augustine & On My Way Back Home from Night 2!
They did "No One's Gonna Love You" both nights!!

The night before they kicked off their tour in LA, Ben and Tyler did a private in-store in West Hollywood. They just posted video today. Even more stripped down with just the two of them. Pretty cool.

The Chicago show at the Vic this past week was amazing. The band sounded great and were in a pretty laid-back mood. Lots of joking around and having a good time.
