Today should be a national holiday! We could celebrate at the many Yield memorials erected at intersections all over the country, and those erected on long straight roads if you can find one.

I still remember buying Yield then cranking & the tour here in Oz with a road trip from Sydney to Brisbane. Only disappointing thing was i didn't get the posters which I always will regret!

The album that turned 'like' into 'love' for me. Special place in my heart for Yield!

Can't believe it's 17 years. I remember checking out Brain of J on the 'listening post' (remember those!) in our local record store (remember those too?). I thought I knew that song from a Messiah Bootleg but the sound, Ed's voice, Jack's drum fills, man that was magic.
On the day of release I was working at a bar and my girlfriend, who is now my wife, bought it in town, met up with 2 friends of mine and met up with me at work. As soon as we closed for lunch we poured fresh beer and cranked it on the PA system. Still gets regular rotation. The special place in my heart that is No Code was out-mastered with their finest album to date (IMO).
YIELD and reading Daniel Quinn (didn't read him until 2010 strangely) changed the way I see the world and the directions it is evolving toward. It changed my life to want to stop being part of the unconscious herd and try to stop the bullshit that is raping the earth. My whole life and career are now finally going in that direction. I can't say thank you enough for the music, poetry and inspiration that is Yield. Much love. V.

Yep- good call on Daniel Quinn. I remember the PJ newsletter mentioned it and how the lyrics revolve around in the songs in yield.... I never would have read it if Ed hadn't been talking about it so much, Great book, and super cool that I always remember this album release and me and my friends driving around town getting the free fan club single that stores had if you asked them for it. Fantastic album. Seriously cannot wait for this and No code to get the super box set treatment.
With No Code and Yield being played in their entirety on the last tour i would expect those shows the be included in on the next NoCode/Yield Rerelease. Should be by the end of next year. 20 years of no code. 25 years of pearl jam.
Amazing album!!! Changed my life!!! Everyone notice all the 1998 South Pacific video clips in the media section on here!!! Theres like 6-7 from maui aus new zealand.....
