Phillip, you were probably my favorite contemporary actor. From "Charlie Wilson's War" to "The Master", your characters were made memorable by your significant talent. You will be missed.

I don't feel this sad about an actor dying very often. He was one of my favorite actors ever. So so talented. How fucking sad. :(

There is this man who gets on the same train with me most mornings, and he is a spitting image of Philip Seymour Hoffman. At first i actually thought that it WAS him, maybe working on a character study of a man who takes the train a lot, hahaha. It took several mornings worth of trying to stare without him noticing to confirm that it wasn't him, haha. So every morning i kind of humourously think to myself, "Good morning Philip Seymour Hoffman!" Lol..... that's definitely never going to be the same now!

Hey Hollywood: get your shit together. Being talented doesn't mean you are immune from being incredibly stupid.

What an actor he was. 46 years old is too young to die especially when you have three kids.
    So sad.
    RIP M. Hoffman

Awesome actor! I know it was only a small part but I really liked him in Boogie Nights. Sad, sad, sad!

Years ago, just before he became "famous", we chatted a bit at a local car wash here in LA.

Sitting on a bench together in the morning sunshine, seemed a nice enough guy. Down to earth.

I really liked his work, its purity and honesty. Don't come across that all too often, especially (ironically?) in that industry.

The fuck? Three children...and only 46.

Read this news, thought about it, him, while having a smoke with our balcony door open, clean cold air coming in. Absolutely gorgeous out, Kitten Bowl on tv, enjoying this afternoon with my husband, our cats, good food, warmth.

    I'm thankful for this.

And part of me feels like Marge at the end of Fargo.
