New Jimi Hendrix Biopic

The first question that came to my mind is- will this be better than the last one? There is only one other movie biography about Jimi that I know of and to avoid disparagement I won't mention the title here but suffice it to say for this long-time fan it just didn't work. I'll keep my finger crossed that this one does. No easy task, that's for sure.

I saw it at TIFF and personally I thought it was incredible. It was creepy how dead-on Andre 3000 was. However, I must
admit that I am not a huge fan or any kind of authority on Hendrix. But to give you some idea of the calibre of film; it was directed (and I think written) by the guy who wrote 12 Years a Slave.

Andre 3000 looks so much like him in the photos I've seen... and I didn't know that the same director as 12 Years A Slave, which was a-ma-zing, so I will definitely be seeing this.

Written and directed by John Ridley who adapted the screenplay for 12 Years a Slave.
