not the end (part I)

close my casket
pull the plug to the sea
please kiss what were our dreams
just allow me to rest beneath what are now all your seasons

gather those old playing cards
shuffle the deck
cut away from everything
in time collect yourself
all the months later have slipped away

your tired eyes open like the cold earth
you are still my heart (now turning over as dust)
even in this death
i was just gone well before

you will grow little colors across the yard
along sidewalks your songs do not coast alone
if you listen you will
as earth's ceiling lights your face warm
you'll know our goodnights were always true

i have no more you
you have not flown quite yet
meander across all your daydreams
your nights a fullmoon always
however you desire things to be
my queen

& now my eyes wider than ever
finally all the answers
all questions have been put to rest
fulfilled yet starving
seperated by breathing or not
a small flock of birds just flew your way
they come visit
everyday

I am tired; my heart is
sick and sad. From where
the sun stands I will fight
no more forever."

This gave me a tear.  I always felt him in his writing, no matter how wordy or concise.

What a marvelous way with words.  This is so sweet and sorrowful.  I will miss his crazy brilliant self and mind.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

    "meander across all your daydreams

    my queen"

This is my favorite part. I love that he seems to be saying that until you come back together, he wants you to worship you. That is a truly loving way to think. Reading that passage, helps me to understand why you spoke of the importance of carrying on his legacy of love, rollings.
