Best Australia Day ever

I just got back to my hotel and I just wanted to say... wow. My 20th show and after Melbourne i wasn't expecting much.
But damn, they delivered. An amazing set, so much energy, so perfect for Australia Day.
Along with Pistoia, the London Astoria gig and PJ20, this was one of my PJ highlights.
Thanks fellas. That was something special.

Eddie didn't come across as blind drunk...yes he stuffed up the words in Black and skipped lines on other songs, but he is only human. Ed wasn't disrespectful in any way, he was clearly enjoying himself, was happy to be there and it was lovely watching the way the guys interact with fans.

I'd suggest that your best Pearl Jam days might be behind you if that's the case.. Ed was great. Funny, energetic. Australia Day is all about getting drunk with your mates, listening to great music and generally being happy that you live in a kick-ass country. From my point of view Ed got into the spirit of it.
I was 2nd/3rd from the row on Mike's side. Sound was perfect.
If a musician forgetting some lyrics leaves you "shattered down to the very core of my soul", then you really need to think about your priorities...there are more important things in life to worry about than something so trivial. If Eddie was as drunk as you are implying, he would have been slurring his words and falling over. He did not come across as being really drunk at all, I think you are over-exaggerating.
Also, having a PJ tattoo doesn't make you more of a fan than anybody else on here. Personally, I would never get a tattoo of any kind and it doesn't make me less of a PJ fan than somebody who does.

I think its disappointing that you feel that way. I haven't seen PJ play live since 1998, so I had really high expectations of seeing them and they did not disappoint me, in fact they far exceeded what I was expecting, with long set list with lots of awesome songs, Eddie doing a solo of Throw Your Arms around me.......that's unheard of in a PJ show, we got something special that night, so you should treasure it and not worry that Eddie messed up a few lyrics, it was one of the most memorable nights in my life...besides my wedding night and seeing PJ play live in 1995 (another absolutely unforgettable night), anyway, we got 2hrs and 45 min set, 15 mins more than promised, PJ were in fine form, so what if Eddie messed up a few lyrics, it would be great I had a job I loved and I could have fun lots of nights & have a few drinks (he was not blind drunk I was down the front, he was just having a good time), and that's what Eddie and the boys did, they were smiling all night and having the best time with the Sydney audience who got into every song.
Sydney audience made the night awesome by getting into and the PJ fed off our energy, I understand that Black is your favourite song, but its probably been years that Eddie has ung it word for word, he likes varietyt & sometimes he doesn't stuff the lyrics up, he changes them to suit his mood, so I think you should think we got a rare version of Black
They owe you nothing. To expect anything else is delusional.
My 3rd Sydney concert - and this smaller crowd sang much louder & were much more involved than any other.
