Kevin Drew and Gord Downie

Kevin Drew (Broken Social Scene) and Gord Downie (Tragically Hip) are making a record together. It hasn't been announced yet but it's apparently happening. Pretty fucking sweet.

    That's excellent news. Given the recent sub-par Hip tour in Canada, I think Gord needs some time away from the Hip, so this could be great for the Hip over all too.

    It could definitely help. I wish Gord toured his solo stuff more. I've always been a bigger fan of that material than the Hip material, though the Hip is great.

    Yeah. Awesome! I really like Gord's solo stuff, usually. The little clip they included with the announcement really doesn't inform us much about how this might sound, but clearly they went "rough" with it. Sounds like a lot of the album will be more like demos? I'm not sure how excited I am about that TBH, but really, everything Gord touches is at the very least interesting, and usually good, so I'm assuming this will be good too. :)

    yeah, the press release says it was recorded really quickly. should be interesting.

    yeah, the press release says it was recorded really quickly. should be interesting. 
    For sure... I won't be buying it until I hear the whole thing though. Apparently the vinyl won't even be released until Dec 1st anyway.
