Does anybody know what bass Jeff Ament uses in the Unplugged show (1992)?

it has a great sound to it. Any help would be great!!!

  • It's a Washburn. Either an AB10 or AB20, I think.
  • The "Jeremy" bass was a Hamer 12 string

Yes it's a AB20. I have one of these and they are great Basses. Washburn do not make the AB20 anymore but they make the AB20 anymore, but they make a slightly cheaper AB10, which is okay.

The bass on Jeremy is his famous Custom Hamer USA 12-String, which I have one of these rare things too.

Check out my other thread just added on this forum showing the Hamer 12 string Jeff Ament Bass I have.

  • In addition to that black one, Jeff also used an acoustic/electric 12 string (also made by Hamer)

  • Yes he did, but I don't believe that ever got recorded, or at least not on any releases we have. The black one is whats all over Ten, Vs etc. I seem to remember reading somewhere that Jeff asked Hamer to make the semi-acoustic 12 string as a custom order, but doesn't use it much as it wasn't how he hoped it would perform.

I seem to remember this was about 2000 when he used it a few times on the Binaural tour. I saw him use it in London, Wembley Arena, 2000 for Jeremy etc, but soon ditched it and went back to the original black version as pictured above.
