Are tenclub releasing any official bootlegs this year? Or do we need to rely on audience recordings such as this one?

I need to bring up this post...
when I read the setlist of Wembley all I could think of was:
uhhh would I like to have THIS boot...

I got a audience boot of my show "Munich" and it is o.k., but the quality of course does not match the original versions that PJ spead ...

...so, I know there are those threads around already,
but again: Does anyone know if there will be bootlegs released over Tenclub also this year, Europe 2007?
    Kat, anyone?

    hopefully, hopefully ...

They've obviously not done boots of this tour so it doesn't affect sales of the Gorge box set....if they had boots on sale and people could only afford one or the other, they'd go for the show they were at, not the Gorge (which would of course also cost less than the box set)....I wouldn't be surprised if in 6 months from now once the Gorge set has been out for a while all the 07 boots get put online...

You really got so accustomed to having a boot of every show so that it is really disapointing to not have an (official) boot of the concert you've attended. Honestly for me it is the greatest souvenir you can have when you've attended a show! No t-shirt or poster (ok, maybe an outstanding Klausen!!) can match with a great boot that lets you wonder back in time and relieve those wonderful moments.

I don't understand why Pearl Jam are refusing to earn those extra dollars. I can't see how the release of new boots can dampen the sales of the new gorge box-set. I don't have a degree in marketing but I don't see a logical sense!!?

Maybe someone destroyed their taping gear by throwing a stolen basketball against some equipment boxes ...

Whatever I want those boots back please!!!

They did have microphones at the front of the stage at wembley pointing towards the crowd, like they do for all recorded shows. Surely there can be no other reason for throwing the crowd into the mix other than recording it for a Bootleg.

So I deduce that these shows have been recorded and will be made available once 10club have decided how they will release them. Mark my words

There were mics at the Astoria show too, and no official bootleg has ever surfaced. May be a case of the band wanting to record themselves for personal use.

  • I read about audience mics at other shows too.

    In regards to audience mics....

The band use in-ear monitors (they have little ear pieces which they hear everything through, instead of big speakers on stage), this means they can hear what they each need to hear a lot clearer than if it was blasting out of a huge speaker next to them - it also means they can have a lower volume in their ears and helps protect their hearing.

Due to this, the sound you get from in-ear monitors can be somewhat sterile because they block out all sound other than what each musicians asks for from the sound man (hence Eddie pulling his out to hear out what the crowd were shouting at him during the Wembley show - he couldn't hear them).

Often bands using in-ear monitors have ambient mics which are placed around the stage and towards the crowd in order to capture some of the ambience and general sound/noise of the stage/venue - this helps transform what can be a sterile in-ear monitor mix into a truer representation of what the show sounds like out LOUD, but still at a lower volume in their ears - it basically helps the musicians feel the 'vibe' of the show, without blasting their ears for 2+ hours.

Whether or not these mics were for ambient use only or bootleg recording as well I can't say - I would be very surprised if they don'trecord every show anyway, just in case they decide to release them at some point down the line!

In Munich those micks were mounted on stage after the supporting band finished their set and it was a double microphone so i guess it was there for reccording

    I hope so.

I can definitely NOT afford the box set and am trying to get people to club together to buy it for my birthday (I've got a long wait ahead of me, by b-day is 28th December! Hehehe). I would SO buy a boot from Wembley.

Also, the boots were there to stop illegal boots from being sold, weren't they? (Maybe they weren't, it's just what I always thought.) It's nice that people around here share, but it'd still be a shame if that noble principle were to be disregarded to make some extra bucks off the box set. Hm.

maybe I'm too positive, but I still believe we will have boots for this tour.

Maybe a surprise in a few weeks: real boots, like in 2000 and 2003.... please !!!!

i spoke to a guy who had done the munich fan package and they were told they werent getting their disc of the show... i think they have complained about it as it was part of the deal and a big selling point.

hopefully i was too pissed to understand him, but i believe thats what he said.. :o
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
