The Raconteurs- Consolers of the Lonely

One of my favorite records of all time. It is simply an amazing album, it has different genres thrown in like rock, blues, country, ect...and great use of instruments like piano, horns, bass, ect. All great muscians, Jack White with Brendan Benson are magical together..btw...Brendan Benson...underrated. You have great rock songs like the title track, Solute Your Solution, Hold On, great upbeat fun tracks like Old Enough, Five On Five, These Stones Will Shout, and just fantastic songs like You Don't Understand Me, Many Shades of Black, and their cover of Rich Kids Blues. And of course....Carolina Drama...that almost needs a thread of it's own, it's that good. Another great thing about this album is the fact they did no promotion before the album came out for it. They pretty much just released it..take that Beyonce! I still remember when I first heard this album. It just had came out and I got it on iTunes because I say it on the front page and heard the previews and liked them. At that point I had only heard of Jack White...so after this album, I was amazed. This album for me is a Milestone in my musical life!

  • Consolers is brilliant. If you're part of the Vault, they released a few demos from the Consolers sessions with Jack and Brendan and they're really cool. this is easily my favourite Rac's album of the two and a head of everything Dead Weather. I put it above a few Stripes albums too.

Seeing Jack do some Consolers songs on his solo tour was fantastic, too with the full band. Can't wait for him (or the racs) to tour again.

Although I'm not a part of the vault (I probably should be) I have those demos. They are great, LOVE "Open Your Eyes" (Later released as another song on one of Benson's solo album) and "You Make a Fool Out Of Me" (Which also was released on a Benson album) I'm really hoping for them to get together soon and release more music and tour so I can see them!

I'm more of a Broken Boy Soldier fan, but I do love this album, as well. Carolina Drama is very Dylan-esque. Patrick Keeler's drumming on Salute Your Solution drives me crazy with the hi-hat playing. I'll have to listen to this today.

Broken Boy Solider is fantastic as well, very classic. I actually spun that yesterday, a great vinyl. Keller's drumming is perfect for this band!

Your addiction is yours and yours alone man. Don't try pawning it off on others. lol

Amazing album. If not for Get Behind Me Satan, I'd say it's Jack White's greatest musical triumph.
