Ten, overrated? Really? I can see it not being someone’s number 1, but to call it overrated is a bit too far. But that is just my opinion.

Also my opinion, but yeah, I think that if someone says that Ten is PJ's best album, it is being overrated by a long shot. I don't think it's even CLOSE to being their best album, for several reasons.

I LOVE Ten. But it's far from their best album IMO is all I'm saying. I don't think it reflects who they are as a band that well, and it's slightly one dimensional compared to several of their other albums. That in PJ terms, not general terms, because it's still one of the best albums ever made. But I've probably got ranked at #7 or so. Although my favorite PJ song is on it - Release. :) And all the other songs are also amazing. Just imagine how much I love those 6 albums I rank above it! :P

Honestly I would have to say that I hope
they haven't made my favorite album yet!

My fav to this point is Yield because of the way the
subject matter and music connects. Its their motif.
    take the reigns and
steer us towards the clear here
I know it's already been sung
but it can't be said enough

Yeah, I would love to think that my favorite album is still to come!! Jeff Ament said in an interview last year that HE thinks their best album is still ahead of them.... for what it's worth (and assuming he wasn't thinking that LB would be the one; I didn't get that impression). ;)

My Backspacer Lp has a quarter inch of dust piled on it.

Ten has been my favourite album ever...not just PJ. I still remember my first listen. I am loving LB and that could soon take over. Time will tell.

Vs is amazing! (better than Ten IMO). But really, ranking Pj albums is a bit pointless for me and I think many of us. I actually have only three rankings. Five albums are number 1, four more are number 2 (but not far behind number 1), and number 3 is Backspacer. :D

Had to go with Vs. by a hair over Binural......was so hard, almost had to rock, paper, scissors with myself.

At this very moment, if we're talking albums that I would most like to listen to from beginning to end all by myself with the volume way the hell up, the list goes like this:

    Ten
    No Code
    Pearl Jam
    Lightning Bolt
    Riot Act
    Binaural
    Vs
    Yield
    Vitalogy
    Backspacer

Backspacer's actually grown on me recently. I personally don't jive with the Yield love- that album is way uneven for my tastes. Same with Vs and Vitalogy. Great songs on all of them, but also a lot of my least favorite PJ tracks. Ten to me is absolute perfection. There are other albums by other bands that I could say that about (several Pink Floyd albums come to mind, also Soft Bulletin, Perfect From Now On, In Rainbows, etc), but I'm not sure there's a one that I hold higher.
