    man, that really sucks.

    i saw the secret machines during their midnight slot at bonnaroo 2005. i was on my way to trey anastasio's show but their sound and lights stopped me in my tracks and i watched most of their set. they came to first avenue with kings of leon about a month later and then again on their "in the round" tour in 2006. i'm so glad i stopped at that roo show- the secret machines became one of my favorite bands of the decade and it started with that show.

    i'd fallen off on following school of seven bells after the second record, but alpinisms is fantastic and you all should listen to it.

    RIP Ben. Saw Secret Machines in a tiny venue in Manchester on the Ten Silver Drops tour and they shook the place. Their first album remains one of the greatest debuts I've heard.
    Really sad news. Only 35 years old. Gutted.

    that would have been awesome! Loved Secret machines but never saw them live :( Never really got into School of Seven Bells though.

    It was awesome. Not heard anything by SOSB but will do soon. Will always remember the show cos my wife hated it. They were LOUD. Loved every minute of it. Alone, Jealous & Stoned into The Road Leads Where It's Led was incredible
