Um, yes! Finally a worthwhile petition, though rather than a petition for something that is not our right, I'd like to think of this as a friendly request/show of support from devoted fans.
I agree. I don't think any of us deserve this as mentioned in the OP. But it would be nice to hear the songs. No petition signing for me. Ed will probably drag them out at some point unless there is a legal issue with the copyrights.
Is it really the audience's fault that the movie tanked?? Just wondering. Haven't seen it myself. But us usually movies tank when the movie isn't that great for some reason or the marketing was poorly managed. Not because society is too dumb for the movie, lol.
Just like everything else, it's cool to blame the powers that be, in whatever field, than apply it where deserved.
I think a petition is a great way to express support, unless the petition writer comes off as greedy or entitled, which I don't think the case is here. I think some people just get a little excited about PJ related music that we haven't heard and tact gets kinda overlooked.
Consider it signed by me. Wasn't a fan of Ukulele Songs, but I'm sure Ed has more cool stuff in him.
I thought there were some good performances (Christian Bale, Woody, Casey Affleck), some wasted performances (Forrest Whitaker most obviously) and a weak script that made the good performers really work to deliver. If someone couldn't follow this script they had not seen very many movies...it was very paint by numbers.
But I did love hearing Release as the movie started and liked the movie experience overall due to the way it looked and the good actors.
Would love to hear other music that EV did for it!
I agree F Me... I enjoyed the movie, but it wasnt extraordinary. I'm not really much a fan of Bale, but he was good in this movie. Affleck was great. The plot never had me guessing and everything just kinda seemed to fall into place. But the production and acting was very good. After seeing it, I can see why any new Ed songs might have been dropped from the film too. They'll surface someday.

Same here, and Woody was creepy as hell. It was a sad, dark view into that area and life.
Also, since the director said that EV's songs were essentially too good and would take the viewer's attention away from the movie, there better not be any legal disputes.
I wish we can hear them sometimes ! For me it was a great movie bc of the dark and down-to-earth style. Good actors also and I got goosebumbs all the time bc of the music ! It wasn´t this kind of action movie for the mainstream, I like that. And I think it wasn´t promoted so much in Europe. Maybe they thought they didn´t need this so much while having such a good cast?
Anyways I only can imagine how great these songs must be - maybe some dark but hopeful and sad songs...perhaps he will delight us with them...!

It's been 10 years.
I think it's about time now that they release EV's Out Of The Furnace songs, on vinyl.
