That white morning haze
there's something in it!
that feeling of
"Anything could happen today!"
that feeling of the universe expanding
that feeling of the top of one's head lifting off…
to float up as if to see the day from the top of a peak
or, that bird's nest up in the tall pine
walk down here on the soft pine needles and
the scent reminds one of why it's great to be alive
I'm glad to be alive
and I'm glad the people I love are living too
the sun is up, and the birds are rustling

    Yes!

I'm lucky that there's an enormous pine tree in my neighbor's yard that hangs over one of my side yards as well. Even though it makes a mess with the needles on the lanai, I still love that tree. It has a pair of hawks living at the top of it too. :)

we had a really big one in our yard too when i was growing up. it was massive. i used to love that tree. it ended up dying and had to be cut down. i remember our yard looking really big after that tree was gone.

that is awesome about the hawks living there :)
