I'm working very hard to get this bill passed, and it's my story that's on the petition. Sign it, and you'll be taking a step towards making the state of NY safer for children. And as NY does it, other states will learn how to. I'm trying very hard to get this up to 13k signatures by New Year's.

    I am familar with the SO laws here in Ky. I am a mental health therapist and currently work with sex offenders.

    So sorry to hear about your situations. Hopefully you are healing. I will say that Ky does not have a Statute of Limitations on sex offenses either. I have guys on my caseload currently who committed their offenses 10 to 20 + years ago. Sometimes victims bring out the abuse during counseling sessions. From there it is reported and arrests and convictions are made. I am certain that these laws prevent additional victims. You are doing a great thing. Good luck.

    I'd like to see all rapists and sexual assaulters given the heaviest load of punishment by law - not just those who force themselves on children, but those who force themselves on anyone.
