Anyone else going? I am pumped for a band of this caliber playing at such a great venue. I think they will be on a little before 9 and play two hours (20+ songs).

I was in VA this weekend when they played Barclays and am now back in NY when they are playing The National. Bad timing :x . I drove by the national Saturday and saw the sign for QOTSA up and got even more jealous. Should be a great show. Have fun!

That is bad luck! Not sure if you've been to the venue before but it's fantastic. Come back down for the Arctic Monkeys Feb 4. Will be a great show.

I'm going to see the Arctic Monkeys on Feb 2 at the State Theatre in Portland. It will be the 2nd time I've seen them.

    I need to see QOTSA!

I have been there and I really liked it. I find it crazy the size difference between that place and Barclays. I hate late NYC venues when others are getting intimate shows haha.

    Hmmm AM is a possibility...

Catching them in St. Petersburg, FL in February... Making a mini vacation out of it... Looking forward to seeing them in an intimate theater. Got front row of the left side dress circle. If it is like the Lyric in Baltimore I'm gonna be blown away!

    Enjoy the show tonight!!

Barclays was awesome, but nothing compared to the Brooklyn Masonic Temple show! That show ruined me for life with these guys :lol:

Saw them last night at The National. Was on the floor - great performance!

...which was all-but ruined about 4 songs in when a dude that was 6' 5" wedged his way in front of me and his girlfriend as well in front of my GF. There was nowhere else for us to move, so my GF said to her "Um, I don't think there's room" and the hefty girl turned to her and said "Bitch, don't even start with me". She was a pure "see you next tuesday".

Being 5' 8" myself and the size of her man, I knew I wouldn't win this one with braun. So... I pushed myself up on the guy. Like really up on him from behind. I told my buddy to stand immediately behind me. So, I kept like rubbing up against this dude from behind, and I was using my friend as a plausible excuse that I'm being pushed myself. I wanted to make him so uncomfortable that he wanted to move. ...which he moved behind his girlfriend like 2 songs later. I moved up and eventually in front of his girlfriend. After a few songs with me jumping around I noticed she had her fist steady in front of her poking me, as apparently while she didn't mind pushing people, she didn't like any crowd activity near her. She eventually was poking me and pushing me overtly and getting upset that I was in her space, yelling at me.

...anyway, a potentially great night diminished by a real and true * * * * like this. But was still a good show. The band seemed very happy to be playing there.

That sucks! Sorry to hear they ruined the show for you. That is the main reason I avoid GA shows, unless there are spots that I can avoid other people. Usually I'll work my way back to the sound board when it gets too packed or I get annoyed.

Everyone was cool around me. But we were a little to the right (Stone's side!). Queens were great. They were loud as hell, especially during song for the dead. I swear they cranked up the volume at the end. Crowd was great too. We were all loud and it was very rowdy in the center front. People were moshing and surfing. That didn't even happen at Jaynes, although we tried a few times to get it going.

The bad thing is that over the past year, I've seen PJ 5x, DMB 2x and Bruce twice. So when I see a show that is right around two hours, I feel like it was just getting going before it ended. I know that's not fair, but it's the truth.
