What's the significance of this "hatch" poster?

Not sure about the significance of Hatch posters but my kick-ass buddies grabbed one for me. I think they were posted in the parking lot? In any case, we didn't pay any money for them so someone just made a tidy sum of money for being at the right place at the right time. Shame on whoever paid $150 for that!!

I would LOVE to have a Pearl Jam Hatch poster!!
But I thought they were the exclusive poster artists for shows at The Ryman.
They're usually a little bit smaller than a typical gig poster & mine are printed on a different (heavier) paper stock.
Here's my Band of Horses Hatch prints from last years shows at The Ryman:

They also have a shop on Broadway, just down the street from The Ryman!!

What are "Hatch" prints? Is it a style, an artist, a group of artists...?

These were definitely just being handed out randomly. I'd love to have one, but won't be dropping big bucks until some more background is known. I gots to have everything that is associated with both PJ and Spokane.

They do "Old School" gig posters & are located in Nashville, just down the street from The Ryman!

OOOOPS...it looks like they may have moved since I was there last April, so not sure where their new location is!!

They are an old Letter Press print shop that's been around since the 1800's. They have done a poster for Eddie Vedder and a few Pearl Jam shows. Hard to get. Their store is like a poster museum I hear.

OK, I doubt these are authentic Hatch prints then! Maybe someone attempting to design them in that style.

I was at the Spokane show & I didn't see this print at the show, inside / outside the arena, or at the pre party.

  • It looks legit in the sense that Hatch made the print. Who knows as to why they made it.

Venues sometimes produce their own posters to advertise an upcoming event and have them posted around town. Maybe these are the leftovers.

    It is Authentic, :)

I emailed Hatch and this is that they sent me back.

Thanks for your email. That is a photo of a poster designed and printed at Hatch Show Print. Once the posters get out into the marketplace, it is not uncommon to see them for sale via ebay.

    Many Thanks,

I don't understand. If it's not an "official" PJ released item, and only a few were made from fan's or local artists, how are these so rare & valuable? So if a few poster artists created PJ posters for every show (and let's say I created a stickman print and slapped PJ & the show date on it) but were not the "official" gig poster for the show, and were just given out for free (or pinned on a tree) those will be much more valuable then the "official" show edition prints? I don't get it. :|

Thanks for the idea D!!! I will be starting my new company for the next N. America tour. I will limit each poster to 5 per show. I will keep 3 for my personal collection, raffle off 1 and sell the last copy on eBay. I'm going to make a fortune.:lol::lol:

I think it's the "Hatch Show Print" aspect that gives it the value. If it was just some random printer around town, the value wouldn't be there.
