Horrible Vinyl

I just opened a brand new vinyl copy of Abbey Road (2012 re-issue)
It sounds HORRIBLE - crackles, pops, hisses... It almost sounds as bad as my first copy of Lightning Bolt.

Anybody have a similar issue with the Beatles re-issues?
Anybody get a good sounding Abbey Road? I want to know if good sounding copies exist.

I have the complete set and they all sound great (except side two of Yellow Submarine, but that has nothing to do with the vinyl quality ). But I did read about people having issues on Amazon. I think they were very hit and miss.

The Beatles reissues had terrible quality control. EMI went cheap and pressed them at Rainbo. You can take it back, but chances are, a replacement may be just as bad. I've read the people wrote to EMILY Capitol and got replacements sent.

What Tim said above is true. I bought the box and lets just say its a good thing I had a friend who worked at a record store and could sort me out and get me new copies because i needed about 5 or 6 of those records replaced. My MMT didn't even have a record in it. Now that I have it straightened out, there pretty good records. If i could go back though I would order from Europe and get the overseas set. From what Ive read those were pressed perfectly. But I ended up getting a BC-13 set a month later for xmas and that set is the way to go, unless of course you go the original pressing route.
