So, I've made a short animated film here in Sweden.
And the producer is worried about the translated english title of the film.
So my questions are:
1) Is there something wrong (grammatical or whatever) about this title
2) How do you interpret the title, as in - what is the film about?
The Man Who Went Down a Hole

Good luck.
Some may interpret it in a more pedestrian or banal sense as the word "hole" in contemporary English usage is often seen as referring to something anal or sexual. (Not that that is a bad thing in of itself except it would be a misinterpretation because a part of a man can go into that kind of hole, not the whole man. :wtf: )
How it is looked at will depend on your audience. My own personal reaction to the title, based on my own past experience, is that is about someone going into seclusion, trying to take shelter.
"losing control"
1) Grammatical, no, but it sounds like the name of a children's book/movie.. Kinda simple? Don't know if thats what you are going for or not.
2. I interpret it as a man falling into a drinking water-well.

This is exactly what I was thinking.
Also, it could also portray the feeling of a man getting into some sort of trouble or causing himself grief by participating in questionable behavior such as excessive drinking or drugs. but thats a bit of a stretch. I'd say what Brian said is most likely.
It's for a short film version of this music video (4-5 minutes longer) that will have the title.

If anyone has any more opinions of the title working and it being correct etc
