Same here, I'll check it out later. Obviously this video includes information about the problem with wind power related to noise. I'm guessing it also talks about the problem with bird death.

Sooner or later we have to face the likelihood (nice I avoided the word "fact" :) ) that reducing our energy consumption and lowering our population are the most logical steps in the right direction.

One of my cousins has worked in environmental law for many years. For the last several years he has studied energy. When I saw him at Thanksgiving he talked with great concern about the massive solar power arrays going up in the desert. He explained how these arrays are having a disastrous affect on desert ecosystems. I asked him what he believed to be the best solution to energy and he said beside reducing usage and lowering population, the best solution is small localized energy production (including residential and commercial roof-top solar) rather than large widespread energy grids. This fits well with what many have said about the wisdom of moving toward local economies.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

Yes it deals a lot with noise. Worth the watch I think.

This is like the 5th thread you've posted this in. Do you have a vested interest here?

What are you doing? You're watching me? I'm just posting the link to the trailer of a film that I found really interesting on some relevant threads. If you don't like it, then don't watch it. It's up to you.

Not following you in particular. But I do click on other threads and have seen that sane clip in several other threads in the last 30 minutes or so. It appears that you are plugging it awfully hard.

I don't keep count. How's that possible? So somehow you only happened to click on threads that I started or posted therein (without you even participating in any of those environmental conversations). Please let people free to share. Thanks.

How is what possible? I've participated in several environmental discussions. In many more, I've just lurked. I don't know what I'm supposed to be explaining to you. My question was mostly sarcastic but you have taken it personal. That's fine. It wasn't meant to be personal. You don't normally come across somebody posting the same video in seval threads in an hour. But to each his own. I certainly don't need to explain which threads I participate in and which ones I only read.

OK, I'm putting an end to this nonsense right now. First of all, I took it personal because the mean (web forum) is impersonal and I don't know you. I never commented on something you posted in a sarcastic manner. We don't need that. Do it with your friends, if you like. On the other hand, if you wanted to have a "light" discussion with me you should have pm'ed me and not hijacking this nice thread. You're not here to judge other people's actions (that's a mod's job I guess). Nobody asked you to. I don't care if you post the same thing 100.000.000 times on purpose or accidentally (technical glitches). By any chance, have you read my older posts about "thread police"? You'll see what's my view on the topic. Anyway, people change as does everything so let them be free. I still can't understand why especially those 5 posts really bothered you. Are you against that specific organisation, or you don't like the fact that the band we're all here for supports environmental activism? -> rhetorical question

P.S: And all that happened because I felt really happy to share an interesting - in my humble opinion - link (with a likelihood of generating discussion) with fellow Pearl Jammers.

P.S1: I don't have any kind of interest in promoting that organisation or that specific documentary. I just found the facts and views presented therein interesting, that's all. I wanted to share that new thing that I learnt with the community here.

P.S2: In the past, a lot of people thanked me - I'm really grateful for that - because I posted something in 2-3 different places (threads) and as a result they were able to read/watch/listen to it. I know that a lot of members cannot afford to be online all the time. So they're going to learn something new, only if they're lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. Why deny them the chance? That's why I said it's weird. Because I don't know how often you're here, but you said you were lurking around and you happened to notice (though you don't know me at all) something "strange" about my behaviour (yes I was in a mood to share yesterday). I just posted the link. I didn't try to push my ideas or anything like that. The only comment was that I found it thought-provoking. Now please excuse me, but I need to meet the producers to discuss my percentage.:smile: -> sarcasm

Well, it didn't bother me. The thought popped into my head after seeing the video posted several times. I'm thrilled that people discuss/share/debate their views here. I disagree with a lot of people here concerning the environment, but contrary to what some may think, I do read posted articles and watch posted videos against my beliefs (including this video).

And no, I don't know you at all compared to some other posters. So sarcasm may not have been the best way to approach that. Was it that offensive? If it was, I'm sorry.

It came out like that because of the aforementioned reasons. Let bygones be bygones. You are forgiven.
