I'm walking from Westlake station at around 11:30pm on Thursday night to my hotel that is near the Space Needle. Walking directions on google say to take 5th avenue the whole way up. is it safe to be walking at that time of night, or should I just cab it?

First time and travelling solo - help a brotha' out!!

I'm taking the central link rail at around 11:15pm (or so depending on customs) to westlake station, then will likely walk up.

Yeah, too late for the monorail....So walking up 5th at midnightish is fine then?

Personally, I would just take a cab. It can't be more than a 5-7 min ride depending on your hotel.

Maybe you can ask your hotel as well? I just called mine to ask about walking to Key Arena and the chick was like, oh yeah, I would totally walk that in the middle of the night! Just another point of reference :)

Yeah I mean Seattle is a safe city as a whole, but why risk it? You'll have plenty of time to feel it out on Friday when it's light out and you can actually see stuff... Make sure you go to Top Pot Doughnuts downtown for breakfast/snack (which coincidentally is on 5th avenue). Enjoy.
