It's Okay?????????? Where are you??????

I know...I know...another new topic but....

Is the band going to play the "It's Okay" at the end of "Daughter" on this tour????? Sure, "WMA" afterwards is great but this tag makes a very good song/performance an outstanding one.

Just wondering: Do they (or Eddie) have to be in a particular frame of mind to play it? It was omitted completely from the Riot Act and Backspacer tours. I wonder why???

Saw them 6 times this year and was so looking forward to hearing it, but like you said, it doesn't appear to be in the rotation. I must have listened to the Toronto 9/11/11 version about 1000 times by now.

What do you mean? For me there isn't necessarily a special occasion that requires it, it's just a great song/version that they do and I'm sure for each person that likes it, it holds its own meaning as many songs do.

That is such a beautiful and powerful version.
puuuh, the part when Eddie talks, before he teaches the audience how to sing the song...it gives me goosebumps every time i see it :( And then he starts to sing, and the crowd responds. Music can have the most amazing powers, and at that moment it seems as magic happens.

Does anyone know if this is the first time It's OK was played?

Another great version is from The Gorge 2006

I'll have to check the bootleg but I think the Berlin '96 version isn't the full on Dead Moon rendition. I don't think that occurred until the classic Virginia Beach show.

Like I mentioned in my original post, it seems to get skipped from tour to tour. From what I can recall the full on Dead Moon version has only been been play in:

2000 - three times (VB, JB, and Washington)
2005 - a few times (in Spanish) in Mexico
2006 - about half a dozen or so times
2011 - four times (PJ20, Toronto, Winnipeg, and Porto Alegre)
    2012 - twice
2013 - so far just one or two times (in Spanish)

Maybe they are saving it for Canada - or the epic 40-song Seattle show that is on its way!

There's two "versions" of a PJ "It's Okay:"

    1. The glorious back and forth between EV and the crowd to start and then he takes over with "this is my chance, this is my life...."

    2. EV sort of echoes "it's okay" over and over. He did this quite a bit during the 2000 tour.

I much prefer the first. I hope he performs it this week.

Not the only mistake on the setlists over here.

Go to http://www.twofeetthick.com/concert-chronology/ for correct setlists of earlier shows, including all the correct tags, outros etc.

That is the chorus of Sonic Youth's Androgyneous Mind, followed by Stereolab's Noise Of Carpet (the "...Broken Face..." part. Technically he chants similar words, but it is not the same song as Dead Moon's It's Ok.

VA Beach was the first real time it was played. And I never thought they would bring it back and almost shit my pants when I heard the chords coming in at PJ20. Then to get it again at DeLuna really shocked me. The best tag they have for sure.
    '08- Camden 1-2   '09- Chicago 2; Spectrum 1-4
    '10- MSG 1-2   '11- PJ20
'12- MIA; DeLuna '13- Wrigley; Pitt; Brooklyn 1-2; Philly 1-2; Baltimore; Seattle
    '14- Denver   '16- Philly 1-2; MSG 2
    '17- Pilgrimage Music Fest (Eddie)
    '18- Fenway

we had "It's OK" in Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile earlier this year - although it's not listed in the setlists of the Tour section

(and part of it was in Spanish/Spanglish)

The 'Official' (not really) Dead Moon version of “It’s Okay” List:
2000: Virginia Beach, Jones Beach 2, and Columbia
    2005: Monterrey*, Mexico City 1* and 2*
2006: Cleveland, LA 2, The Gorge, Dublin, Leeds, Lisbon, and Bologna
2011: East Troy, Toronto 1, Winnipeg, and Porto Alegre
    2012: Berlin 1, Oslo, DeLuna
    2013: Buenos Aires*, Santiago*, Vancouver
Therefore, 23 times total: 18 in English and 5* in “Spanglish” (to quote an earlier post) – I should also note the Italian usage in the Bologna version.

Please correct the list if there are any errors or omissions.
