Portland to-do

Hitting the road for a long overdue trip to Portland to scout and then see a little band I know. Thought I'd check for some local advice things to do. Usually like walking all over a city, some good neighborhood or hotel suggestions would work. Is there much happening on Thanksgiving? Underground tunnels are always high on my list too. Thanks, Eric
