yea...that guy behind Dennis Rodman... I don't know who he is but he looks familiar and he was standing near me during the concert.
Alas, I did not meet the band **sigh** but I can't have it all, can I?
My husband's company erected the stages for Lolla last year and they are contracted to erect the stages for the next three years. When I heard that Pearl Jam was headlining at Lolla, I asked him to do whatever he needed to do to get me backstage. We didn't know if we had any tickets until Thursday and once we got to Lolla and met up with our guy, he gave us the Pearl Jam guest passes that got us to the balcony on the stage. I've seen Pearl Jam several times, flew to Hawaii to see them but this was an experience that I can't quite describe. I was living a dream last night.
Wow! What a wonderful night you had! thanks for sharing those and I LOVE the shot with the circles around your feet and the hub's feet! that's a blast!
I met you in the elevator at Hard Rock. I was wearing my Stone shirt and carrying a huge armload of t-shirts for my kids. I was hot, miserable, and disgusting and heading back to cool off and get cleaned up before P.J. While we were at the show, we had pretty ok spots (not as great as yours of course ) but we weren't getting pushed around a huge amount and everyone around us was fun. Anywho...I was watching the monitors and saw you in the balcony! I said to my dh, OMG that is the lady we were talking to in the elevators! Glad to hear you had a fantastic birthday! I am just happy to know I wasn't nuts and it really was you.

Hey JoWesley! pleased to meet you in person and again here! Once I hit the festival, we were on a mission to get to the artist tent and I never had a chance to get shirts for my kids....I hope your kids like their shirts (I'll try to find some on-line!)
...offaroundthebend: we must trade some pics! We had an unbelievable time up on that balcony!
.......
as for that guy...
I think it was Danny Moder, Julia Roberts husband behind D-Rod. I know it wasn't Mark Wahlberg as my husband would have recognized him in a second.
To the original thread starter You should have ran down to the stage for the big stage gathering at the end! How amazing would it be to say you were on stage with Pearl Jam!

i would have been on there is a second!
how did you score those tickets???
Anyone up on the balcony would have had to cut through some security to get onstage. As you exited the balcony from the stairs, you could only go left as there was a fence on your right that prevented direct access to the stage and a security guard....I could have taken him down.
I think I posted on the first page how I was able to get up there....briefly.. some phone calls were made from my husband's crane company who erected all the stages at Lolla to some people (two great guys!) who organized the festival. ....phone calls paid off and we were blessed first with artist wristbands and finally, with Pearl Jam guest passes that granted access to the stage. Life is good.

I thought it was Kevin Bacon at first. But I was wondering who the people were that got on stage. I knew a couple people, but who were all the randoms that were on there. I couldn't tell if he was bringing up people in the crowd or crowd surfers or what. Anyone know?
Finally got all my pics onto the computer, now to figure out this photobucket business.
NONE of my friggin' PJ pics turned out (I guess because I was bouncing around too much), but I have tonnes of Ben Harper pics (a few with Eddie). I met a whole bunch of awesome people on Sunday (very unlike me), so I have a bunch of fan pics too!

Those people came out from underneath me...so to speak. I looked down from the balcony and they kept joining the party on the stage. I'm pretty sure some were artists who performed at Lolla and others were friends, etc.
....and yes, the final answer to the question of how we were lucky enough to get backstage boils down to *connections*.....and it will probably never happen again so I will count my blessings and take a moment out of every day to close my eyes and think about how close I was to see and feel the music of my beloved Pearl Jam in my city.....
