I feel extremely confident in the condition of, and the photos/descriptions that I have given of the album. It's fine if you don't want it. Hope you can find a seven year old album, hot off the press, that will suit you expectations.

Chill dude. No need to get your panties in a bunch. All I said was if I was buying a sealed copy I don't want that damage. I'm sure someone will want your copy, just not me for that price. Relax :fp:

Hi Jarred, just sent you some pics of S/T and RA to your email address.
  • I understand everyone wants top dollar for their PJ vinyl, but as a serious collector an opened VG/VG++ is not worth the same as a sealed NM vinyl. I don't mind waiting for them to pop up on e-bay as I've already snagged a few for decent prices.

Use these as a guideline as what I'm looking to pay. You don't like the number, that's fine..don't shoot me a PM, it's that easy :D .

    Avocado (Self Titled)
    Sealed $220 (NM/M)
    Opened $120

    No Code
    Sealed $200 (NM/M)
    Opened $110

    Binaural
    Sealed $200 (NM/M)
    Opened $115

    Riot Act
    Sealed $200 (NM/M)
    Opened $110

Everybody would like to pay prices like this, but nobody wants to sell them for that kind of money, mostly ... Apart from ebay there is other possibilities to find vinyl. I got a sealed Yield for 50 bucks a year ago or so on discogs. Amazon can be a good source too. It's good that you are patient.

Most of the prices that you posted for sealed ones are the prices you will probably have to pay for opened ones. Except maybe for the No Code. Life is not a pony farm, as we say in Germany ...

And sadly, PJ vinyl is hard to find. Good luck.

I don't know man. E-bay has been kind. I don't mind extending over for the sealed priced I listed. Prices on sold auctions on ebay are within +$25 of what I have listed here. Of course, there are a few rogue auctions that went for stupid money (if they are legit).

Good for you  I hate the hassle of ebay, it makes me sweat too much  ... I love discogs, just for fixed prices. And like I said, if you are patient, things will come your way :)
  • It appears that everyone on here are poor sellers and great buyers...

    Recent sales on ebay:

    Sealed RVW 255.00

    Sealed Avocado 250

    Binaural 250

Riot Act 200. I bought one.

Be patient and ignore the obtuse comments. I'm still looking for a decent Binaural price though. That one is tough.
  • All of the studio albums have been acquired or are near a sealed deal

    Looking for

    Rearview MIrror
    Lost Dogs

Not to mention the self righteous people that will praise someone for selling one thing 100x over cost but bash another guy for selling something else at 2x cost

I bet my PJ LPs that are open are probably better than a lot of sealed copies I see. I often like to buy records in opened shrink. People often sell stuff as new when it is sealed but they often have bent and damaged corners and split inners and you can never guarantee it is going to playback perfectly unless as someone has checked it over.

I used to work in a record store and had to grade vinyl. I'm very particular when it comes to purchasing. I don't mind putting out top dollar as long as it is in top shape.

Split or opened shrink does not equate to sealed. Just because there is some shrink hanging on for dear life does not mean it's sealed. I guess there are some people who are desperate that will pay crazy money for something not worth it, which in turn, inflates the price a great deal. Once that high point is reached, everyone shoots for it. There's nothing wrong with that, except on forums, where your market is a lot smaller than eBay. I have absolutely no problem with people making a dime, but don't feel slighted when someone who knows what they are talking about corrects you.

At the same time, take a moment to reflect on the fact that you're on a Pearl Jam message board. A board dedicated to the band whose vinyl output is hard to find, highly in demand, and lauded by a rabid fanbase of wax fans.

There are no casual fans here, so it's easy to imagine why people price things as they do: They're invested in it, or have some sentimental attachment to their stuff.

I wouldn't say their vinyl is hard to find, there are plenty of copies for sale. As for casual fans, I know a few people on this forum who have been members for years to buy stuff to sell...so maybe not casual fans but not fans at all.

I understand people having a sentimental attachment to items, but who actually pays sentimental value? If you can answer "i do" then you are sadly a fool.
