i'm coming over from manchester for the gig - just a few questions...

roughly how far away from dublin airport is the point?

how much do you think it would cost in a taxi from airport to the point?

is it gonna be really difficult to find a cab to take us back to the airport after the gig?

and also what is there around the point, cos i'm gonna be down there pretty much all day!

cheers :)

Ok id say the airport is approximately 15-20min or so from the city centre (O' Connell St) which is about a 10-15 minute walk from the point or 5min in a taxi provided theres no traffic. You could get the aircoach (blue bus) you cant miss it the minute you leave the terminal from the airport opposite the taxi rank and runs every 10 minutes, i think its 13 euro return and it stops on O connell street and tells you when its there. A taxi will probably be 15-20 euro.

Not much around the point really its sort of derelict but since town is only a short distance you can stay up that way.

It wont be too hard to get a taxi on a Wednesday night to get to the airport.

i think i will probably go into the city centre from the airport and then head on to the point at about 2 or 3

    No problem Jack,

If you want to find to the point by walking just find O connel Bridge in the city centre turn and fact the spire and take a right and walk with the River Liffey for about 10-15 crossing roads etc minutes until you reach the end of the road and the point is right there. Im sure there will be a big sign for something like PJ or something else thats on. It looks a bit dodge but its not so bad. On the way back just walk with every one to the city centre! Its grand.

So only 24h til show time. YaY!!!!

Yeah, what Oxy said. Pint is basically on the river. I'd say it's about 15 - 20 minutes walk down from O' Connel Bridge.

roughly how far away from dublin airport is the point?

-About half an hour drive, if not more.

how much do you think it would cost in a taxi from airport to the point?

-I reckon well over €30. You might want to get a bus into town (the 746, 747 (cost €6 methinks), 16, 16a and 41 (cost €1.80)... basically any bus that has "City Centre" written on it.) This may take longer, but it may save you from wandering aimlessly around the Point.

is it gonna be really difficult to find a cab to take us back to the airport after the gig?

-I've never tried to get a taxi outside the Point, but you may want to follow the crowd to O' Connell St (the one with the Spire!) and get a taxi from there.

and also what is there around the point, cos i'm gonna be down there pretty much all day!

-There's nothing around the Point except the sea!

That's a good point actually. You'd be far better off headin to the city center for some food or whatever, before you go to the point.
