  • HOLY CRYIN' CRAP!!!!

just got home. hopes hadn't been too high, or was at least trying to stay realistic.. but FUCK ME! I can't go into it all here - only got 4 hrs sleep last night and have been on my feet consistently for the last 15 hours or so. Need sleep, but this gig - even though they didn't play a very long set really surpassed all expectations. Full fanview to come, but for now make what you will of this: Inside Job as an opener, It's Ok as a Daughter tag, extraordinary Even Flow drum solo from Matt - when he was the only one on the stage, the first ever performance of Education, and of a hometown classic The Boys Are Back In Town (with Mikey in Thin Lizzy tshirt). Plus Indifference, Fuckin' Up, passing the bottle around with Crazy Mary. And that's before I tell you that I threw my mask to ed, he caught it and threw me back his wine cork, and then came back again, singled me out and tossed me a tambourine during Fuckin' Up. What an incredble night. Anyone going to any more shows on this tour, you're in for a treat. i just wish this wasn't it for me. More tomorrow

what kind of mask did you give him?
(PS: I see from your signature that you are a witness of the good old times when the bands were playing in places like slane and cork.. ;))

That was my first show, so I didn't know whatto expect at all. Didn't think it was a short set. I'd say over 2 hours is pretty long.

Jesus Christ though!!!! That was better than I ever could've hoped for.
Y'know that joke that Eddie told at the Dublin gig in 2000? he told it again :D
Matt's solo in Evenflow was amazing. Opening with Inside Job was a Masterstroke. Didn't see that coming at all. Education was awesome, although the crowd were a little quiet for it. I guess not everyone new it. Boys Are Back in Town was hilarious. They only learned half the song :D Still great though.
I've been trying to pick out a personal highlight of the show, but I can't. It was all too fucking good!!!
It was great meeting all the pit people too. Saw the touring van guys and did an interview for them :) Hope to see them again in Croatia. Also, according to the Astorians, The Point was a better show.
