Rock and roll is great- I love the energy it gives off. But one of the things I also really are the quieter moments, the introspective songs, the love songs that pull at something emotional when that’s what feels right. What are some of your favorite ballads?

Some of mine:

The Beach Boys: “Don’t Worry, Baby”
The Doors: “Indian Summer”
Jimi Hendrix: “Drifting”
Pearl Jam: “Off He Goes”
Lou Reed: "Women"
R.E.M.: “Fall on Me”
Neil Young: “Pocahontas”
The Replacements: "Sixteen Blue"
Paul Westerberg, "Boring Enormous"
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.
