So it's nice to see a company that treats it's employees well, because we all know there are far too many shit employers in the world.

Interesting to see that part about JC Penney's too. Company struggling like they are and have been for some time trying to make a comeback and as of last year 1795 to one?

the store employees that I work with during unloading havent seen raises in several years, many were let go last year and the ones that are left have their hours cut, BUT are tasked to maintain the same production.

Maybe these companies should let go of the higher ups. During the last recession (maybe still in), when GM and Chrysler got bailout money I often wondered how many Engineers and Marketing Mangers we're let go, those who could not engineer a car people wanted or market a car people wanted ... But everyone blamed the guy on the line for being overpaid :fp:.

This statement from the article boggles my mind: that ratio [of the from lowest paid to highest] averaged 122-to-one last year at Canada’s biggest companies, up from 84-to-one a decade earlier.
Just mind boggling ... Costco is proof that retailers can pay well. Apple pays it retail staff in and around 15 and 30 for their Genius Bar staff if my info is correct. We are becoming a service based economy more and more, if people don't have decent wages how can they support the economy.
