Is Sevens just six 7" vinyl(s) with the Lightning Bolt tracks on them? Tell me why i would want to go out of my way to spend hundreds to acquire this, when basically, it's the lightning bolt album?

Are there any special tracks or takes of the songs?

I guess basically, it's just the artwork and/ or ability to say "I have this and you don't"!!!

Just wondering if i need to start searching for this or if it is EXACTLY THE SAME THING AS THE LIGHTNING BOLT ALBUM ONLY MADE IN LIMITED QUANTITIES TO CREATE PARANOIA AND MADNESS AMONG THE FAITHFULL.

What do you think?...

The Lightning Bolt album is out there for the "spin it" people, Sevens(IMO) is a collectors item with little other value outside of that.

For most people, there is absolutely no reason to go out of your way and spend hundreds to obtain it.

I still listen to Benaroya Hall on itunes and this is not likely to change in the near future.

It's for collectors. I don't get what there is to understand about it. Isn't it the same concept as colored pressings?

Not really, I have quite a bit of coloured vinyl but I still play it. It functions the exact same as a regular record, it just looks prettier. Sevens is so impractical in its design that it will just sit on most people's shelves. If you dig it, that's cool, but it's not really made to be played.

So I take it you're not into the colored fixers either?

Wellll, I own one, but a friend bought it for me. I wouldn't have bought it myself, just because it doesn't have new music on it. I actually had a copy Sevens in my cart when it went on sale, but didn't pull the trigger on it just because I didn't see the need to own it, for me. I wouldn't play it, and I guess for me wanting to play it is what makes a record worth it's price tag. I'd definitely pay a premium for a red Lightning Bolt.

the question was the content of the box, since info isn't readily available anymore.
