No Opening Band in Phoenix so hoping for a 3 Disc show!

they might be slightly shorter by a song or two. what time were they taking the stage back east 8:30-9ish? you figure it will be 9 for the shows with openers so they can breakdown that equipment.

According to venue sources PJ in Dallas is 8:45-11:45pm, same 3hrs as Leg 1. So it doesn't appear to be any shorter because of the opener.
where did you hear that?
The American Airlines Center e-mailed some people a schedule, I think.
2003: San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Seattle; 2005: Monterrey; 2006: Chicago 1 & 2, Grand Rapids, Cleveland, Detroit; 2008: West Palm Beach, Tampa; 2009: Austin, LA 3 & 4, San Diego; 2010: Kansas City, St. Louis, Columbus, Indianapolis; 2011: PJ20 1 & 2; 2012: Missoula; 2013: Dallas, Oklahoma City, Seattle; 2014: Tulsa; 2016: Columbia, New York City 1 & 2; 2018: London, Seattle 1 & 2; 2021: Ohana; 2022: Oklahoma City
Many cities have 11pm noise curfews so the band is supposed to wrap it up around 11:00pm.
So if there an opening band they start at 7:30, play for 45 mins, 30 mins to switch over the gear, and PJ starts at 8:45.
Thats 2 hours 15 minutes (maybe a bit extra if they push it another 10 or 15 mins). So that would seem to prevent 3 hour sets in cities that have noise curfews. That being said I did see PJ blow through the noise curfew in Vancouver '11 when they played all the way to 11:40. I also saw the Foo Fighters play to 11:30 in Vancouver. Two shows well past 11pm within a few months of each other, and I'd never seen that before in Vancouver ever. The arena got trashed for gnr in '02 because axl was late and they cancelled the gig, because they didn't want it to past curfew lol.
In terms of Seattle, the '00 shows went really friggin late (til 1:30ish). The '02 and '09 shows wrapped up around 11pm fairly promptly.
Hopefully PJ is planning ahead and either willing to pay the fine, or work it out with the cities to play a bit later.
In Buffalo the doors were opened at 7, and PJ started promptly at 8:25. They were done just before 11.
I don't know where this idea of a 3 hour set keeps coming up. from everything I've read pretty much all the shows were approximately the same length.
that being said, we know they're no stranger to blowing through curfews if they want.... the last 5 shows I attended prior to Buffalo were: Hamilton '11, Ottawa '11, Toronto 1 and 2 '11, and Boston '10. Every single one of those shows PJ played well past 11:30 and all those cities have an 11 pm curfew.
so to the OP, don't sweat it. You'll get your fill.
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

Philly 1,2 and Hartford started at 8:30 and ended at 11:30.
Pitt and buffalo had shorter shows because they were the first shows.
Look at the bootlegs as well. Each disc is 59-60 minutes (there are three discs)

Just wanted to clarify that.
