Protecting Your Vault Vinyl

Not sure if this is the right place for this question, but those who have bought the Vault Vinyl to listen to and have opened it from the plastic, how are you protecting the packaging?

I'm looking for some ideas here, cause the packaging is quite large and you can't fit a regular 12" plastic sleeve over it.

Cheers.

I think there's a place where you can order jumbo sleeves.....can't recall the name. Mine's just sitting on the shelf right now waiting for me to play it again. :)

We are using a combination of guard dogs, video surveillance, armed mercenaries, barbed wire fencing , one of those net traps like in "Return of the Jedi", and a device that generates a very foul odor. ;)

We just keep the cat away from the turntable when its spinning and put it in its sleeve and on the shelf after we are through listening..

Think you've gone overboard with the foul odor device. Think the dogs and cat might generate some foul odors, so you can take back your device

Haha all good man, I did come back to the forum and saw 9 responses and was pretty stoked for some ideas, but if a jumbo sleeve exists then that's all I'm looking for. The wax is protected, I want to make sure the packaging stays protected protected over time.

I opened mine, but I have these record sleeves that were designed for wider boxset vinyls (my benaroya barely fits in one).

The record was still too big because of the domentions, but I could slide it horizontally on it only left an inch or so uncovered. So I'm using two to protect it. Slide one on each side.

The only downside is that its too big to fit in my record storage boxes.

I don't have a Vault 3 vinyl so I'm not sure how thick/wide the set is, but Sleeve City has multi-album/box-set outer sleeves that'll hold sets up to 1" wide.

Excellent thanks. I will have to see where I can find some larger sleeves.

  • I just threw it up on my shelf with my other boxsets. Currently in between KoL box set and an old Bruce show on wax set.
