Hawaiian Airlines

Anyone have an experience with them they'd like to share? I've sent off a long email and am currently waiting for a response. I had read good reviews of this airline before I booked a flight with them, so I'm a bit  after dealing with them by phone.
Here's the cliffsnotes version:
I booked a direct flight almost 5 months in advance and got a really good price for it.
A couple days ago they called me with an automated message to inform me that my flight has been changed. To the exact same flight, 24 hours later.
My options are:
1. suck it up and make my own arrangements for the one day layover
2. get on a different non-direct flight that is several hours longer than my original flight & which departs several hours later as well
3. accept a refund and book with a different airline
Because the flight is now only 2 months away booking with a different airline will be more expensive than what I paid plus the unexpected hotel expense. The non-direct flights are 3 hours + longer than the flight I paid for and involve switching airlines. The city I'd be stuck in for a day is Honolulu. #firstworldproblems.
I checked the airline's "fare rules", the fee for changing a flight is $200 plus the difference in fare. So if I had called and requested this flight change they would charge me a minimum of $200, but them cancelling the flight on me means I'm just SOL. Is it unreasonable for me to expect some form of compensation for this?
I spoke to 3 different Customer Service people and got nowhere, which is why I sent off an email to their corporate office with the quote from their Fare Rules about the Change Fee.
Anyone have any experience they'd like to share?
