If everybody owned the 'backpack', a Benny, a 'Crackerjack' and whatever else is rare then it wouldn't be as much fun.

I got one so I'm not going to complain. But it prob was annoying that these sold out so fast when people were sleeping and didn't have automatic alarm clocks for limited edition sales. Maybe they should consider 2-3 day sale thru lottery system. You sign up if you want it. Everyone gets fair random shot, not first come first serve. Anyway, I'm just glad I checked my email for it and immediately bought it. Good luck stopping flippers. Limited edition=$$$$

Just flat out "no" on the lottery idea. You think people are whining now...just imagine that fiasco.
  • I agree fully. I will also trade my sevens for a Benny. I know someone out there has two

Ironically, your post about whiners is whining too. haha.

I don't blame the people who were sleeping in a different time zone when it was released. A notice that they were going on sale say today at noon eastern would have been a better way, or the way Vault was sold.

    But whatever, that's life.

And for the record, I didn't get one, and was also chapped about how it went down, but thankfully I haven't lost any sleep over it. ;)

an F5 mess would result in the same number of complaints, if not more. I would think a scheduled time is better for "flippers" as well, as opposed to those of us obsessed and pathetic enough to be logged in on Sunday morning.

The Vault way isnt applicable because they had already committed to a Very Limited supply. With the Vault they were making it to order.

In the collectable world, there are going to be items with varying degrees of rarity. Without that, it would all be boring. I cant remember the last trade for a regular Backspacer Vinyl.

Im cool with the random drops. I have made it a habit to check the forum periodically. I score at a decent rate, and dont get upset when I miss out because I know it is better than F5 or lottery.

It has to be a random shop load. Many here were not around when they sold the 2003 posters through the shop. It was a nightmare.

Yeah good point, it probably would be better for flippers that way. Oh well, like you said, you win some you lose some. Life could be a lot worse. I feel kinda shitty even talking about this with what happened in the Philippines.

A notice? The newsletter is released on the same day of each month at the same time of the day. How much more notice do you need? Just check out this website at around 10am PST on the 10th of each month and see what's going on. It's easy.

Yeah some dude in the UK sets his alarm to read a newsletter, I guess if that's what it takes, that's what it takes.

Seems a little much to me.

Personally, I had no clue when the newsletter came out, didn't really matter to me. I guess I know now, but I was out swimming with my kids Sunday morning, I'm not going to bail on that to check a newsletter, but if it works out next time great, if not so be it.

Doesn't mean I have to agree with how it was done or will be done in the future.

No, it doesn't. Opinions are opinions. :) I know that if the newsletter came out for me in the middle of the night at the same time each month, I would be fine with setting my alarm just to check if something I would really regret not having was up for sale - I don't think of that as much of a hassle at all.... But not everyone is or should be that interested.

Exactly man, and in the end this is all just a small blip in the grand scheme of things.

Read the first 9 pages of that Sevens thread. Almost every other post is someone using the words "greedy" or "cashgrab" and complaining that it is too expensive or in bad taste that others haven't gotten LB yet so they shouldn't try to sell these. After they sell out, HOLY FUCK  Now everyone is pissed. Like it's a greedy cashgrab while it's available, then it's not fair and they should have "millions available forever" after it sells out.

I swear people are only disappointed when they don't get one. Even if they didn't want it in the first place, after it sells out it becomes their holy grail or something. I have to be honest I have been thoroughly entertained these last couple days. Keep it up guys.

I'll admit to being a bit of this. I was on the site when it went on sale and had one in my cart, but didn't pull the trigger because I didn't actually want it. Now after, I'm wondering, shit did I miss something? Maybe I do want it! :fp:

Would be a whole lot better if everyone got it as well as youngster.

And now I challenge everyone, go and donate whatever you can afford to those poor people in the Philippines. I'm sure there is something everyone blows money on that they can forego for a week and make a difference in the lives of those who have lost everything rather than get pissed off about shit like a box of singles.

And for the record, I was lucky enough to score a set and I have donated 1 days pay to the Philippines.

I missed out on Sevens... It was a bummer. But I still have the lightning bolt LP (replacement copy sounds great). So I'm not too worried about it.
