I heard there's a team on the south side there too....
  • I don't even really follow baseball but do have a passing interest. My team is Boston and to rub it in I was only moderately excited that they won. The Cubs can play for the next 100 years but they WILL NOT win the world series because thats the type of team that they are. Winners are grinners and everyone else can get stuffed.
  • Da kid will be there in May to see the bombers play in the final year of what wrigley used to be

Yeah, my name came up a few years ago and I declined. Only way I could have maybe afforded it was 2 of the cheapest seats available but they didn't have any in that section. Living out of state it wasn't worth it for the few games I'd go to. I only liked season tickets for the guaranteed playoff tickets. After thinking about it, it's gonna be way cheaper if or when they ever get to a WS to just buy secondary market tickets for that one game than pay multiple years of season tickets.

Now that they are more than likely going off WGN, living out of state I can't even watch them unless I want to pony up for the package, and based on how they've been the past few years it's not worth it. If they are ever in it at the break I'll pony up for a half season of MLB.TV This new FAN BOY owner is sure about the fans. Just another rich prick who only cares about his bank account.

That's funny. A couple of my friends got that same call in the past week. I think both of them started laughing and just hung up the phone.

You would probably have to take a loss if you sold the tickets on stubhub.

That's awesome! What kind of nut would purchase Cubs season tickets? Even if someone did, he'd probably be going to games by himself most of the time.

Why purchase Season tickets for the Cubs?
The benefit of getting playoff and World Series tickets.

Yeah, that's a tough buy at this point. One of my friends had season tickets in the bleachers a couple years ago and lost a shitload of money on them. Ate a ton of tickets for nothing and ended up selling a bunch for way below face value.
  • If I buy any long term commitment to the Cubs, it's gonna be the firetheoepstein domain.
  • I'd buy season tickets if I could afford it. Win or lose (yes, they always lose), theyre my team and that wil never waiver.

Game was terrific, aside from the fact that I was knocked out of our elimination pool because of it!

Seats were really close to the field, but in the end zone, so when the action was right in front of us, you couldn't beat the view.

    Definitely a great time.

    Free ticket.

I didn't have to drive or pay for gas -- my neighbor drove and he expensed it as a "business trip". And we stayed at his brother's house so I didn't have to pay for a room.

Free food and drinks at the pregame tailgate (that's where the "business trip" part came in). And they had quite the spread.
