What is the default song (1st) on your main Ipod playlist?

None other than 'Setting Forth' by Eddie Vedder for me.

So of course when I shuffle my main playlist I always skip that one, but I've heard the first 5 seconds of it about 100 times!

Ours is A#1 from Desert Sessions 5&6.

Love that song - even though I only ever get to hear the first 30 seconds or so until it's changed...

That makes sense (alphabetical order?)...but I don't get why Setting Forth shows up for me.

I'm not sure either. But if that's the case mine is the Rolling Stones' cover of "Ain't Too Proud To Beg". My iPod isn't very full right now though, because neither is my iTunes. I just switched computers and haven't put all my songs back in there yet. It just has Beatles, Kinks, Pearl Jam and Stones on it right now. But they aren't all on my iPod. The top of the list on my iTunes by alphabetical order is "Across The Universe" and most played is the live version of "Live With Me" from Get Yer Ya-Ya's out.

Not sure how to do that, but will check it out, as I'm getting sick of Setting Forth!!! For as much time I invest in my Ipod mgmt, I should be an expert though! You know what else would be nice...if it listed albums under various artists by the release date. Is there any way to do that? Thanks.

  • I wish I could just get my albums by each artist to be listed by release date. I don't understand why this function doesn't exist. to my knowledge, all you can do is either all albums by release date, regardless of artist, or artist alphabetically.

I would like to have all my PJ releases in chronological order.

iOS7 does that and it's annoying as all get-out.

You can sort by release date but that could entail a lot of tagging depending on your catalog.

The only way you'd be able to do that is edit the names of the albums I guess...

    A) Ten
    B) Vs.

I haven't done that, but I do lable my boots as follows...

    2013.10.21 - San Diego, CA

That way they are all in chronological order.

Hmmm...now I'm thinking about adding letters in front of all my studio albums!!! :D

yeah, I have all my boots year.month.day as well. I once changed all the studio stuff to have the year in front of it, but I didn't like the look of it, so I changed back.

After I sent that last message about the lettering system, I thought, why not just use the actual release date. I may try both methods and see how they grab me. But yeah...even though I know the order for my PJ albums, it would be nice to have them in order when I view them on my Ipod. And a lot of the music I have I have no clue what order the albums came out.

Are you guys talking about on the iPod itself or just in iTunes?

1,000,000 by NIN. 8-) It's just all in alphabetical/numerical order, starting with 0.
