A fellow forum member sent this to me and suggested (seeing as I'm "one of our residential leaders on climate change" ) that I post this.

The implications here are pretty serious. We may be seeing the unfolding of some rather significant (to put it mildly) changes in planetary environment. The oceans are the foundation of all life. The video here is fairly brief and well worth checking out:

“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

Heard on the Nat Geo satelite radio show that there is a crossbreeding of two similar yet different species of shark that are crossing naturally. One is a warm water only shark and the other is an adaptive shark thats both warm and "temperate" waters shark. Warm water one is smaller of the two while the temperate water shark is larger. Think it is related to climate change and the temperate water shark is seeking to better survive. Tried to find a link but I/m not as advanced as some of our primate cousins!!!

  • Without question we are bearing witness to the effects of our activities on this planet. Our polar ice caps are crumbling into the sea... and our animals are forced to adapt given the changing conditions of their habitat.

Even without the science that convincingly tells us so... just casually noting the changes we are witnessing should be enough to convince anyone that we need to figure something out beofre things are too far gone.
