YELLOW MOON

  • What a beautifull song Yellow moon is.
    It's so serene and majestic.
I think the previous poster is spot on.
I feel it's a wonderfull salute to nature and the way you can escape
and feel very small and humble in it.
It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.

Got to hear this live at the Gold Coast Big Day Out festival on January 19. This was the only time it was played during the tour too so I am pleased. Ed mentioned something about there being a full moon and asked Kille to find it for him. :)

    I love this part:

    An echo that rings
    A bullet unchained
    One life, one grave
    Joins the parade

    The sky grows dark
    With fallen stars
    Who'd come so far
    A headstone engraved
    The colors turn gray
    The black and white fades

Yes! My favourite part of the whole song!!!

I feel Mike's solo could go on for a few more bars. It ends to abruptly. I want to hear more.

I feel there is a kind of restraint in Eds voice, almost like he is trying to warn us of some impending doom but he can't be too specific. Its almost like he is gritting his teeth as he's warning of a yellow moon on the rise. Awesome!

Couldn't agree more. Subtle, but direct and powerful at the same time.

Agree. It's a beautiful song. Beautiful imagery. Gorgeous via the album or live. I hope I hear it again in Detroit.

Jeff's Pearl Jam catalogue is golden, Low Light, Yellow Moon, OtherSide, Ghost, Nothing as it Seems, Pilate, Comatose for example.

They crossed it off the list in Amsterdam, so here's to seeing it in Detroit or Moline.

Still blowing my mind. So happy to have a song reach their heights at this point. I think its in the top three for me at this point.
  • Top 3 wow!!
I really like it, but top 3 is saying something.

    About Jeff's catalogue:
Why go, Nothingman, Rats, Sleight of hand and 1/2 Full aren't too bad either.

By the way Comatose is a Mcready/Gossard creation in terms of music.
It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.

I usually replay this song and sing along each and every time. Great ballad.
I remember when, yeah. I swore I knew everything, oh yeah.
