Excuse me if this has been asked before, but would anyone want to see Pearl Jam do an acoustic tour? I know we all love to see them loud, but it has always been a dream of mine to see them play a full acoustic show in Chicago. What do you guys think?

It would be cool, but I don't know about a whole tour. Maybe just 10 shows. I think it would be a little boring after a while. Would miss the harder songs like Go.

Oh please let it rain today.

  • The acoustic versions of Corduroy and Porch that I saw in 1996 at the Bridge School will always be highlights for me, so hell yeah!
10/31/93 Berkeley (Baba!) • 10/1/94 Bridge School • 9/16/96 Seattle (In My Tree!) • 10/19/96 & 10/20/96 B. School (Alt Corduroy & Alt Porch!) • 10/25/03 B. School • 6/1/03 Mtnview (Crazy Mary! You Are!) • 11/29/13 Portland (All Those Yesterdays! Even Flow!) • 10/25/14 Bridge School (Rain! Fuckin Up! TOTD!) • 5/13/22 Oakland (had to leave early, but W.M.A.! Immortality!) • 5/13/24 Sacramento (Light Years! Picture in a Frame!) • 5/25/24 Bottle Rock (Last Kiss! Maybe It’s Time w/Bradley Cooper!)

I think it would get boring to be honest. I mean the 4 song acoustic first encore is plenty for me. After that I'm like, Mikey bring out the 59 strat and let's rock!

    I'd love to see it.

I've seen Eddie, Bruce, Elton, and Elvis Costello solo acoustic and thought they were great

Anyone who has seen Eddie or Bruce solo would agree that their shows are far from boring

This is a good example of why I want an acoustic tour. I'm wondering if they would find a way to strip down and rock out some of their loudest songs. I know a lot of people don't love Unthought Known, but Eddie solo and on an acoustic makes that song rock out so much harder and better than the band version. I just wonder what other songs they could play that would blow our minds. I still say that the MTV Unplugged version of Porch is one of the best versions ever of that song.
  • I would be there!
    10 to 12 shows
maybe in 2018 after there double cd
with a lot of there hevier songs slowed down like
sol&t, evenflow, severed hand the posabilities are endless!!!
thats the word im hearing :D:D:D:o
    until next time......

I get kind of bored during the first encore, so I don't think seeing a whole show like that would do much for me.

It would be awesome but you would really have to downsize to smaller venues for the proper effect. They are just too big for that I think. A little acoustic set in the middle there is perfect!
  • The shows would sell out given the right venues. Like you could do this in the northeast in a large venue, but other areas you might need smaller places to play. Of course if they played smaller places in general, the scalping prices would be more outrageous than normal. Or you just do it the right way — 10C only...

Yes, smaller venues, 100%. How about if they play several cities and do residencies? This could help cut down on the scalping to an extent.

Yes, but I think the setlists will be less varied. I would therefore suggest that they play smaller venues and use one set the entire tour (I know, blasphemy!). But then go back to electric shows with varied setlists after that.

I bet the boys would surprise us on the variety in their setlists.

We listened to Mansfield 2003 on the way back from the Cornell sow last night, and I don't know how this could have escaped me for so long, but MAN! Lucky folks who were there :o

Yes, I'd be more than down for an acoustic tour. Or an acoustic preset in Seattle. Or just another Benny Hall kind of show released on vinyl :shifty:

Acoustic Corduroy in Clearwater was SO FUCKING GOOD!

I would be down for this but only in smaller theaters like Eddie plays on his solo tour. And probably only one tour as a novelty. Would hate to see that become the norm for a few years and impact the arena shows.

Agreed! I would never want this to be the norm. But as a one off type of thing, yes, for sure.
  • no not a whole show ok for encore or start a set

i like the idea better , they pick different cities to play whole album in order. like for example philly gets ten and vs played in a row. then next city lets say ny city gets vitalogy and no code played in a row. then next city gets yield and binaural play together that would be pretty sick, if they played a whole album in order, or in backwards order
