I feel like something needs to be said about the first leg of this tour that we just witnessed... the first thing that comes to my mind is

HOLY FUCKING SHIT

I have every bootleg since 2000 and a couple hundred from before... Love the 95, 96 tours... 2000 has some great shows... Ive always felt that 2003 is when the bands live shows really took that turn of total unpredictability on a nightly basis... I also feel like thats the tour that really started rewarding the Crowds that were super loud and engaged. 2006 I think is another exceptional tour... Was at the Spectrum in 09, Mansfield in 03, MSG Always... 2010 Tour was short but phenomenal...

All of that rambling said... In my Humble yet informed opinion... what we just witnessed the last 3 weeks maybe the greatest string of PJ shows ever... If you think about what would be considered the worst show of that group... I dont know ( Buf, Charlotte, Worcester 2 maybe??) Those were all pretty kick ass shows... If you take the top 5 shows of this first leg ( Worcester 1, Hartford, Charlottesville , Philly 2 and whichever Brooklyn) We are talking about 5 CLASSIC , INSTANT Classic Pearl Jam shows...

I guess the moral to this ridiculous post is after being a fan for so long and hearing so much and being at so many shows... I guess I just figured that they had topped out... I expect great shows always but find it hard to believe im going to leave a show these days thinking that was one of their best ever... haha..> WRONG WAS I... SO happy to be wrong about that but i Have to honestly say i went to 3 shows on this tour and 2 of them ( worcester 1 and Hartford) are def top 5 that ive ever seen... and id like to add that the Hartford Crowd was the greatest concert crowd and atmosphere ive ever witnessed...

So LONG STORY Long... THANK YOU PEARL JAM... Thank you so much... LIGHTNING BOLT absolutely kicks ass... And what you are giving us on stage each night is really one of the most amazing things in the history of Rock music... I really wish every legit music fan understood what happens when PEARL JAM and PEARL JAM Fans share a building together for a night... I am the proud father of a 2 year old and i am also a very very proud Pearl Jam fan these days... Not sure what else to say but felt like this needed to be said!

    like what you did there..

My only beef would be that Philly one was way better than Philly two.. :D

    WORD.

After seeing the Leg 1 shows from the sidelines, I'm definitely ready to hit my shows (Dallas/OKC/Seattle) on Leg 2. Dallas/OKC I think is going to be a crazy weekend and has the makings of something special not playing there (Dallas) for 10 years. I have very high expectations for Seattle though....I'm expect the guys to not pull out any stops and hit at least the 40-song pinnacle mark and be a behemoth of a show.

Call it what you want with high and maybe unrealistic expectations...but after seeing what they have done for Leg 1, I don't think it's that unrealistic being the last show of the tour, in Seattle, and only making that one night as opposed to two shows. I think it will be unreal.

GREAT first leg of the tour, and cheers to the second leg being even better! Best band in the business people.

However.. I will say... history proves... EAST COAST Crowds are better than West Coast crowds so it will be interesting to see if the west coast can keep this energy and momentum going ... Unbelievable first leg.. . SO awesome to be a part of... And WE KICKED ASS as fans too.. Worcester 1 and Hartford crowds were right there with MSG , Spectrum and all the other memorable crowds.

In regards to above, Brooklyn 1 to me is an instant classic and deserves to be toward the top of the list

Ya and i dont want anyone to think im being negative here about any of the shows in general.. they all have been great shows no doubt... Pearl Jams worst show now really is better than 99% of any other rock bands BEST Shows at this point.. ... but I mean if we are talkin about ranking shows... there has to be a first and a last and when you stack Buff, Pitt, Charlotte up to some of these shows we have at the top... hartford, Cville, philly< worcester 1 ... as good of a show as they all are those top 4 or 5 from this first leg were really some of the best in the bands history.

LEG #2 kickin off in a few days, cant wait to settle into setlist threads once again!
