Was listening to the Boston II show on the drive to work today and I was completely blown away by Stone's solo during "Rockin in a free world". Amazing. Anyone else hear this?

Excellent call obiwon76. The STONE love/greatness really was taken to new extremes in BoSTONE.
*sigh*
Amazing indeed.

I haven't heard the boot yet, but during the show I was wondering how it would sound because Theo Epstein, the Red Sox GM, was playing guitar with them during RITFW. He knows how to play and everything, but his timing seemed a little off. There was even a point where he was holding down the rhythm while Mike AND Stone were soloing.
Wait~~>"thankfully, on Stone's side"??? *does triple take*
OMG. Ok, everything you posted just...wow.
I love you.

I'm just glad someone else witnessed that solo and I didn't just hallucinate the whole thing. I almost don't want to buy the boots for the Boston shows because they are **perfect** in my mind right now.
I'm all about Stone. When everyone else is watching Mike go off during Even Flow or Corduroy, I'm the one guy staring at Jeff, Matt and Stone pound the rhythm into the ground behind him.
This thread also inspired me to change my sig.
 ahahahah! Hilarious. !!
You guys are awesome! I_Got_Shit, you should come visit the LOVE FOR STONE GOSSARD thread. It is your birthright. I'm sure of it.
I'm lovin the love. And yes, Stoney G fucks shit UP on RITFW...and again, these shows took it all to new levels of greatness.

Stone's solo is about 2 mins long, but it's tough to explain the intensity of it. When I hear it, I have this mental picture of Stone just rippin away and having that pained expression on his face as he sings along with the solo. The solo almost comes out of nowhere, cause u think the song is almost over, very special indeed.
stone just cant do it...part of the ritfw solo is the same bit he usually does in DTE
i love the guy, but i dont see how this solo is amazing

I don't even understand how you can associate the DTE solo with the RITW? That's like saying every "Even Flow" solo is similar to the solo in "Porch". You should go back and listen to it again and again.
btw, it starts at 5:03.
Oh and whoa obiwon76, I listened to Fuckin Up from DC as well. All I can say is daaaaaaaaaaaaamn.
*bows down*
Tears shit up, but also always adding so much groove to it.

Anyways, I think Stoney should play more solos. Mikey is incredible, but Stoney is,...quite frankly, THE SHIT!
This thread just keeps getting better and better.

There are some fans that think that Stone is JUST a rhythm guitarist, but he is FAR from that!! Anyone who has heard his solo stuff knows what I am talking about!
Glad to hear that Stone is ROCKIN' those solos!!!

the end bit aint bad, i just think folk are immediately loving it and saying its truly epic because its stone
just to be specific
dont get me wrong in all this, i love stone and i like the solo, but i dont really see whats so great about it
Daaaaamn, Stone knows how to TEAR THAT SHIT UP! I can picture him now playing this one, totally committed to the moment, knees bent, head back and forth, constipated look on his face, mouthing the solo to himself in that cute way he does, and Ed probably looking on thinking Stone has finally handed over his soul to the gods of guitar greatness.
Go Stoney!
