By now many of you have seen video footage of Ed referring to "those fuckers in Oklahoma City" (or some variant on that). A local blog here in OKC picked up the footage and ran with it, and now people are conspiring to start "O-K-C" chants during the show.

This sucks. I'm afraid that some drunk idiots will continue to start this lame chant and it will create an incredibly awkward environment for the show. We all remember the 2003 tour with 'Bushleaguer' and I clearly remember boos during the 2003 OKC show. I realize there is nothing that can stop people from being assholes, but I hope that the Ten Club members at the show create enough buzz in the arena to mitigate any bad vibes. Rant over.

    I think it was all in fun. They booked a show in Oklahoma City this tour after all.

    They could've booked a show at the BOK Center in Tulsa instead... ;)

    I'm sure they'll be a joke or two in OKC and as long as people have a sense of humor, it's all good.

    Seattle attempted to take the Kings from Sacramento, fwiw. :lol:

    Instead of walking onstage to "Pendulum," they play the following from "Cars" over the PA system:

    Lightning McQueen: "In your dreams, Thunder."

    Chick Hicks: "Yeah, well...Thunder? What's he talking about, Thunder?"

    McQueen: "Oh, you know, because Thunder always comes after Lightning! Ka-chow!"

    Then they launch into "Lightning Bolt" followed by "Supersonic"

    I completely agree it was all in good fun, but my concern is that some drunk idiots will want to cause a ruckus for no good reason. Idiots+alcohol+meaningless reason to cause trouble=no good.

    I would worry more if it was an Ed solo show. The obnoxious drunks could be heard. I doubt there'll be that many people pissed off to even notice.
