mine is Cage The Elephant. Absolutely loving the new album. I saw them once opening for QOTSA before their first even came out. I remember saying to my wife on the phone from the venue "some band with Elephant in the name just opened-it just sounded like a bunch of noise".

I saw them in Vancouver on that tour. One of the best performances I've ever seen. So high energy. They seemed genuinely thrilled to be performing. They hung out side stage for the whole Queens set too and looked to be having the time of their lives watching the show. I'd never heard of them at the time but I could tell they were gonna be big.

I can't believe it was 6 years ago that I saw their reunion tour

Saw them in 1999 twice (and met them too). Amazing band.

Hugh you are a good man, with many similiar music tastes, therefore I will make it a point to check out this Cage The Elephant band and then see them and QOTSA in San Diego on 12/8! QOTSA are my "must see" after PJ, especially since I've never seen them before.

you will NOT be disappointed with either of those. I've seen QOTSA a number of times, and they always deliver. And Cage, from what I've seen in person and on video, they are INTENSE.

I've been going to gigs since 1987, and seen just about everyband i want to see... however 2 bands that have escaped me that i must see before i die are.

Drivin n cryin ( only ever played 1 show in the uk, as far as i'm aware)
L.A Guns ( had tickets twice, and both times tour was cancelled)

and now i've gotten into My morning Jacket, and would love to see them too.

    I haven't had the opportunity.

I tried to talk any one of my buddies to travel to LA and see them at LA Rising (with Muse no less). Lame asses didn't wanna go.

I won't miss my next opportunity though. They are easily one of my top 10ers.

I would like to see QOTSA with their new stuff. Awesome, eh? The fact that you can say that about an experienced band. Most of the time you are hoping to go see a veteran band and hoping that they limit the amount of new stuff they play!

Saw Cage back up the Foo Fighters and I wasn't disappointed. They were great. Did you ever read that bit about them and my son? I posted it twice throughout this forum at a couple of points. It was a super cool thing for my kid.
