--- A show after NY and MA that few people (besides those in attendance) had high hopes for.
--- Someone other than EV wrote the setlist.
--- Rarities played and the show has a different flow than the others from that tour.
--- Big Wave, Sad and Little Wing played (tag only in Hartford).
--- Arguably both were instant classics

Crazy, I just posted this same thing in the C'ville official thread. So is it confirmed that Stone did the C'ville set list? And back in '08, I only heard Jeff wrote the Hartford set list. I feel humble and honored to have been at both shows.0

You know what? The 10 or so of us posting here... I think we're about to see a new trend in PJ shows, not because of this thread, but because of what this thread represents.
For a band that's always trying to change it up, always trying to keep themselves and the audience surprised and engaged... it makes all the sense in the world that some of the most classic setlists were NOT written by the Numero Uno Setlist writer of most shows. Hartford '08 was classic -> Jeff wrote the setlist. C'ville 13 was epic -> Stone wrote the setlist. There was I think an epic Amsterdam show somewhere... rumor is Jeff wrote that setlist too.
Maybe this is the beginning of other band members taking turns at the setlist? Maybe they'll only do this for small or not-often-played towns, and word will spread which will make those places just as hot as Philly?
I don't know, but having been at both Hartford '08 and C'ville '13, I know what I experienced... and I don't see how the band can't see the links as well....0 -

Right, Brian wrote it. But was the one he wrote the 6/27/12 one at the Ziggodome? That's the thread I think I was reading about, and I thought he wrote one, but Jeff wrote another?0 -

Actually I looked it up, you are right, Amsterdam 2 6/27/12 was Brian's setlist show. I actually started a thread about it because I think the Hartford '08 show was also 6/27/08 and I was wondering if that was some secret, mystical date on which magical PJ setlists are written?
But C'ville was 10/29, so nothing to do with 6/27. Dammit, one less conspiracy theory to delve into!
BUT THE ORIGINAL POINT REMAINS... Epic shows... Guest Setlist writers... What do you think Severed Hand, do you think this will become more of a common occurrence given the special results? And I know, whenever you do something more often, it takes some of the magic away. But still... can't deny the results! No diss to Ed by the way, obviously the man has been writing magical setlists for, well, 23 years and counting (although early setlists were more likely by Stone or a group effort, right?). Ed is the master at it, but the "newbies" (Hi Stone and Jeff!) sure are freakin' great at it too...0 -
I said the exact same thing.Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"
Typo Man: "Thanks kidz, but remembir, stay in skool!"0 -
So, do you think it'll become "a thing"? I know if I was going to another show, instead of begging 10C for a specific song, I'd be begging Jeff or Stone to do the setlist! **cough cough**hint hint upcoming show goers**cough cough**0
