First time in NYC! Need hotel recommendations!

Ok, so my fellow PJ fans, I am a longtime fan, and I live in Arkansas. Unfortunately, the PJ crew has decided not to come anywhere near the south. So I decided to take my savings and go see them at MSG both nights. I can't wait! I've got my show tickets and plane tickets. I do not know where to stay. I don't want to spend crazy amounts of money on hotels. My brother used to live on long island and said there were plenty of places to stay, but the rooms wouldn't be great. I don't care.

Any suggestions? Thank you!

There are tons of hotels in the manhattan area that aren't too bad. There is a hilton garden inn, a doubletree, hampton inn. I would expect to pay any less than 250$ though, unless you want to stay outside of the city or stay somewhere really scary lol... but then you have to deal with transportation as well.I know of a Hilton garden Inn and Doubletree right in Times square maybe check those first. And they give you free breakfast! Embassy suites is really good too.
