Anyone going to NEW Zealand ?

So I am hoping to take a trip of a lifetime and go to New Zealand in JAN. I have always wanted to go and with the greatest live band in the world playing there I think its fate that I have to go this winter. Does anyone know if there are PJ10 club tics for this show or is it just general admission like most Fests? I saw the ticket price and was floored, but I guess everything is much more expensive out there. I just got inspired today to look into this trip since my Mom got some great news today about her Cancer not growing and told me that she really wants me to go see my favorite band in the world on the other end of the world...her exact words. Its been the shittiest year for me and my family so hearing this news today really put a smile on all our faces and inspired us all.
I guess I am looking for some advice or inside knowledge on this Fest and must go places while in NZ. I plan on going for 18 days busting out my backpack out and get lost in a foreign land. I surf, ride mountain bikes, fly fish, and love great beer.....plus of course I luv my Cubs, Bears, and BlackHawks being from Chicago and all. I would love to see and ALL Blacks game and pretty much anything" local "that might be going on.

I will be there! I'm flying from NYC, spending a couple days I'm Honolulu (it breaks up the flight time nicely) and arriving in NZ just in time for New Year's. Keep in mind there is only one BDO in NZ, the rest will be in OZ. There are a couple threads on the board already, look for threads with 'big day out' or 'bdo' in the title. The tickets are not available through the 10c, you have to purchase them online. Check your credit cards to see if they charge foreign transaction fees, because you will be paying in NZD, or AUD for the Australian shows. Capital one and discover do not charge that fee, chase and amex charge 3%. The tickets are expensive (at least by our US standards) but it is a festival and there are a bunch of other bands playing. If you are on Fakebook, there are already events created for the show and a pre-party. Since you say you've got 18 days, maybe see if you can squeeze a little bit of Oz in there too. I'm flying back home after the Sydney show.
Sorry I can't recommend any specific stuff to do in NZ, there are MUCH more qualified ppl on here who could possibly suggest a few things. Feel free to pm me if you wanna talk itineraries and prices.

Thank you so much duska for the responce back. That sounds like a hell of a trip you got planned. I wouldnt be surprised if they played some unannounced shows in hawaii since I know Vedder will be spending the holidays out there like he usually does so hopefully the rest of the boys follow and play aloha-land. I need to do my research on the feasibility of trip as far as logistics. I probably will have to go the hostel route and may look into renting a motor bike to get around. Dan
