Epicenter is ok and it will be really busy. Within Epicenter there is Whiskey River (where the PJ fundraiser is being held (also very cheesy bar)), Mortimers is good, Black Finn, Lucky Strike (High End type bowling Alley). Outside of Epicenter you have Fitzgeralds (Wanna be Irish Pub), Connolly's (Real Irish PUb), Cosmo's, Phil's, Ri-Ra(another Irish Pub), Q (Good BBQ pace and lots of good beers on tap), Brixx Pizza (Not great but decent beers), Blue, Prohibition is another. There are a couple of others that are block away, but can't think of the name. A lot of choices within 1-2 blocks at most. Best bet would be bars in Epicenter, but if you think it's too crowded hit Fitzgeralds or Connolly's. They are both on 5th and on same street as arena. The next choice for me would be Q. Good BBQ and really good beers and you can see arena from bar and is 1-2 minute walk. I will probably head to Whiskey River to see if it's any good, assuming it's too cheesy I would likely hit Fitzgeralds or Q. Would normally say Connolly's, but they don't serve food and I plan on eating before show. Happy to answer any additional questions as I live here and work uptown (yes they call it uptown here instead of downtown, no clue why) so am pretty familiar with area.

Thanks for the information
I am actually over here for a few weeks work from Ireland and was just wondering where the majority might be heading
Haven't actually been on a big night out yet (partially because I started at 10am to watch sport from UK and Ireland in the pub) but am familiar with most of the places you mentioned
Would say the majority of people will be at Epicenter bars and Fitzgeralds. Both are closest to arena and usually gets a strong after work crowd regardless of day. For cheapest I would say Fitzgeralds as they usually have beer and liquor specials throughout the week and would think they will do something that night.
For those that are willing to drive, not far, there are some fantastic Micro-brews on North Davidson. Bird Song, NoDa, and Heist are all on the same street and are all really good. I would rank Noda #1 followed by Bird Song and then Heist. Heist has really good food, kind of pricey, but good. Both NoDa and Birdsong have food trucks that park outside and their food is ridiculous. They are both right next to each other and would highly recommend to those that get here early and want to explore. North Davidson feeds right into uptown and is a 5 minute drive from the arena. Also, Cabo Fish tacos, is my favorite spot in Charlotte. Food is amazing tacos, burritos, etc with a Cali feel to it and great beers. I usually get the Mahi Mahi or Shrimp tacos and they are legit. That is just a little further up North Davidsopn from the Brew-pubs, probably not even a mile and is well worth it again if you want to explore a little bit.
I will be hitting Whiskey River to support the 10C fundraiser, but may hit some other uptown spots so if any of you make it, please let me know would love to meet up and say hi!
