Turns Me Around

I don't write about love, it's either there or it's not.
If there's something in between, lust lost,
If I was ever to rely on someone to be there always
The truth is the lessons were the best I've got.
There's no wonderful prince charming nor a super hero flying.
There's no one brought up to be daring, clever, bold and charming.
When you find all of these in a well bowed packaged box gifted.
Beware his intentions, beware of that dog, his leg is lifted.
Pissing on the watercolors of your teeny-bopper hopes dashed.
the smell is soured honesty, as truth isn't often sweet.
While the yellow spills your dreams it's much darker by your feet
we're supposed to think that in some time we'll be saved by the one
But really if you want to live, just take time and have some fun, (enjoy the ones for now. Just now.)
But every so often we can each discover what's already inside
Dust out the bait for the vermin that shouldn't be in our minds
Push out the horror stories we've disguise as accepted better life
Tear up potato sacks we've convinced ourselves as hand tatted lace.
Look directly at the mirror to see what's behind the hidden face.
Deeper stare, you'll find it there, you're farther inside than you'll see.
In my world for weeks and years I finally saw what's right instead.
It turned me around and led me to the one as broken but as worthy as me.
turns me around to discover he was waiting to love only some one deserving as he.
Turns me around this can happen
Turns me around this has happened.
Turns me around this is my life now
And for the for the very first time the sound
Is his breath in the same rhythm as mine
Our lives agree, though we don't always see exactly eye to eye.
that's what made me turn around
And write his love song down.
For in forty years when we laugh again in time
we'll be in closer a rhythm than we are now.
That's what it is, that turns me around

When I hear music, I fear no danger. I am invulnerable. I see no foe. I am related to the earliest times, and to the latest.

How energy, intent, come across and are felt so clearly.
Thank you for this.
I'm in the midst of watching an old McCartney & Wings show. Paul did a gorgeous rendition of I've Just Seen a Face and when he got to "but other girls were never quite like this", he looked at lovely Linda with such...JOY. That came across and was felt so clearly here by me, years later and miles apart. I've always loved their love. (and her vegetarian dinners from ages ago...so good!)
That, like your writing, made me smile.
Turns me around this is my life now
Yes.
Precious years into it with mine and still floored by that thought. That beautiful reality.
Thanks again
